Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

Twitter

"@pastapadre No, you read correctly Brian. All of the recently retired players were removed (Warner, B Berry, Seau, etc.)"

I just have to say, I think that is a horrible move. I don't remember them ever doing that with a roster update at the end of the season, and if I remember correctly, Favre was still in Madden 08/09 for the final update even though he "retired" after the end of the seasons those games were for.

So, thoughts from anyone who plays Madden? Personally, I think that the game is for the 2009 season, which Warner played in. I don't think it is fair to take him out just because he retired after the season was over when they could easily leave him in and just take him out for Madden 11.

Terrible move!

I agree, this Madden is for this year. By taking out the retired players, the team that played this year won’t exist in any of the games. That’s just stupid…

Well don't do the final update then

I am a franchise mode player so it doesn’t really effect me. I am playing with the Cards now and its 2011. Warner has been pulling a Favre and won’t retire. It’s great and all but I drafted a young dude who is pretty legit.

When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again. True story.

I saved a copy of the update before this one so I could keep Warner and download the new one.

I’ve also been redoing all of the ratings myself.

I am fine with the update...however,

why not wait until the draft class at least comes in? I like the idea that i don’t have to buy the game next year to be able to play on xbox live with current lineups. Who fills the roster for us? Now we only have 2 quarterbacks on live? This is going to kill me! If anyone wants to play on live my gamer tag is KurtWarnerisGod.

Horrible

The Cards are one of the better teams to play with in Madden. Offensively they are one of the best teams in Madden history. I have been playing Madden since it first came out on the PS2 (Eddie George was on the cover) and this past version of the Cardinals was one of the more lethal offensive attacks I have played with. They, for me, rank just a little bit behind the Greatest Show on Turf (Rams, circa 2000-2002) as the best offense that Madden has ever had.

I have won several tournaments killing fools with the Cards. In my opinion, the best team in Madden ’10. Their offense with those receivers and two above average backs in Hightower and Wells make them really tough to defend and they have a really good secondary (McFadden actually makes plays in the game unlike real life) along with a great linebacker in Dansby who is really good in pass defense. I use him as a robber in center field and get a lot of picks with him. Their return game with Breaston is also really good.

One of the main reasons I’m was bummed with Warner’s retirement is that Cardinals won’t be as good in Madden. A good quarterback is not as important in Madden as in real life because the player himself can compensate for that with great stick skills but it does make it harder.

Beanie’s rating will go up along with Early Doucet’s, Antrel Rolle’s and hopefully Steve Breaston and if they draft right they should get better overall in Madden.

Its funny, in all my years playing Madden the Cardinals went from one of the teams nobody ever played with to being now one of the more popular teams because of their explosive offense. If you know anything about Madden, defensive talent is not as important as offensive talent because you can hide and compensate for a lack of talent by great defensive play calling and stick skill, but a lack offensive talent is a lot harder to compensate for and hide. If your receivers can’t catch and your running backs suck there is not much you can do.

There was a firefight!!!!
