What a surprise. So long Urban.

You and me both.

What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

What?

That he signed with the Chiefs? Not a big surprise since Haley has coached him before and they usually pick up Cardinal drop offs. Tim Castille, Lance Long, Leonard Pope, and now Urban.

So if the Cardinals are becoming Steelers West

Are the Chiefs the Steelers MidWest? Good riddance on Urban. I still think without that fumble we don’t get blown out in that game.

We all bleed Cardinal Red, but most of us don't recognize it!

I would assume they are the Cardinals midwest

This is what I was wondering, too lol

They got decent use out of our guys last year, all things considered…

I remember seeing Tim Castille making a great touchdown catch last year for the Chiefs

urban also couldn't outrun patrick willis to score a TD against the Niners in Whiz's first year

if he had scored, Rackers wouldn’t have shanked the kick, and Warner wouldn’t have fumbled in the end zone. I don’t know why but that game still sticks with me

Wasn't that Sean Morey?

Yup

Urban’s no slouch in the speed dept.

by tw3kr on Mar 11, 2010 12:56 PM MST up reply actions

Didn't he get caught from behind

to have that ball popped out by the Saints though? Aparently his speed couldn’t save him there.

Steelers West

I had a moment last night of panic and disgust thinking “greaaaaaatttt here we go again with more steeler cast offs headin to the cards” I think you just need to repeat the mantra “best available free agents” it eventually went away. On a serious note, after Foote and Porter I think we can call it quits on that whole thing. First time NFL head coach and I know its baby steps but lets step out of our shell a bit and shop around there are 30 other teams to draw from.

Don't forget the Cardinals met with DE Nick Eason

Another former Steeler. I see your point but it’s not necessarily a bad thing molding your team from a franchise with six rings.

Molding after a franchise good. Taking all the cast off players from a franchise bad.

Their franchise model is great. Trying to be them by getting all their free agents is like wearing all of your friends old clothes cuz you liked em when he wore em.

What better linebackers were/are available though?

I don´t mind bringing in former Steelers

This was to be expected from the moment we hired Whisenhunt, remember that he brought some great coaches like Grimm, Lott and others, that worked with him and are familiar with those players, I think these are players that have something left and can be great teachers to the young players, they generate interest from other teams, but feel good about playing for a former coach… as for the model, is a great model, trust me I hate the steelers, but have to admit that they have been good for a long time, without spending a lot of money, so that seems to me the best formula to have a winner for the long run… GO CARDINALS

Whats wrong with signing guys that know the system?

Theres no learning curve if they already know what they’re doing. Plus they know what it takes to win it all. Go Cards

I agree.

Let me clarify a bit. I was not saying we shouldn’t sign them if they really are right for the team and the staff. The staff and the system has worked out reallllllly well for us. What I am saying is that I just don’t want ex steelers to become the first and only guys we look at in FA. Remember McFadden? He knew the system too.

by pat6972 on Mar 11, 2010 11:48 PM MST up reply actions

Yeah and McFadden didn't show any signs of being a terrible CB in Pittsburgh. He was actually a pretty good #2 or #3 option.

Urban always seemed like a nice guy

But please God, don’t let the ball go near him in a close game where you need a completion.
