Cody Brown
I would love some insight into Cody Brown. After being drafted by the Cards late in the 2nd round last year, the plan was to develop him into a year 2 starter by giving him time at DE for pass rush and time at OLB. Well, his injury in the 2nd preseason game put an end to that. I wonder how is conditioning is and whether he might be part of the reason the FO hasn't signed another OLB yet. That doesn't sound all that logical to me, having someone like Porter mentoring him for a year or two does, however. But ....

Found a partial answer myself..
…While Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt told Pro Football Weekly at the NFL Scouting Combine that it was “too early to know” about Brown, who sat out his rookie season after fracturing his right wrist in the Cardinals’ second preseason game, he was very bullish on Davis, who displayed some impressive flashes last season. “We are very pleased with Will for being just a sixth-rounder,” said Whisenhunt. “You always worry about a guy having to stand up and drop back for the first time, but he was coming on late last season and provided us with a real pass-rushing element.”
Davis could be
a diamond in the rough.

Urb had an article on C Brown around a month ago
Said he’s been at all the meetings, and is one of the few guys who showed up early this year for training and conditioning. Despite the wrist injury he was able to work with Lott on some aspects of his conditioning throughout the year.
Brown will be huge for us...
…this is why they are waivering on an expensive vet… Brown and Davis are the future for us…
Personally, I hope you’re wrong. Jerry Hughes is going to be a beast in the league, and an OLB corps consisting of Brown, Davis and Hughes would do some serious damage for the next 3-5 years.
Hope he is wrong?
Heck I hope Brown dominates. I don’t think he will though.

2nd rounder.
Cody was taken in the 2nd round – the cards have drafted well in recent years and must have seen something in Brown to take him that high. 2nd round picks are usually pretty good players. Maybe since we are a year removed from his draft we kind of lose all of the hype associated with a draft pick.
