Steeler backing core turned Cardinal
http://blog.azcardinals.com/2010/03/07/porter-visit-encouraging/
Well it might just end up with have the linebacking core of the Steelers from 2006 only a few years older and hopefully a few years more mature (Porter). Signs are pointing to Porter landing in AZ according to DDNN (Darnell Dockett News Network branch of OCNN). If Porter does sign and Foote comes in for a visit and the Card offer him a decent salary can Foote resist hooking back up with Haggans & Porter? I am calling my shot now, starting linebackers are as follows for 2010 Arizona Cardinals. OLB - Joey Porter, ILB Gerald Hayes, ILB Larry Foote, OLB Clark Haggans.

Question is whether or not they can all still bring it.

i don't like porter at all ... but i would welcome him as a player even though...
i think he acts like an ass most times.
+1/2
I will welcome him until he is done warming up the spot for one of our younger guys.
They are who we thought they were!

one thing i truly truly respect is that he works with kids that have autism
i know he has a child with autism and i know what that’s like as i have a nephew that has autism and my god he’s a gorgeous boy! i just don’t like his attitude on the field – maybe it goes back to his stealers days and the fact that i hate the f’ing stealers. anyway just wanted to say i respect him from what i know as a person.
Knowing that he supports autism research
only makes his aquisition more appealing for me. I used to hate Dan Marino too until I learned what he does with regard to autism as well. I have a young son with autism myself. I might just be buying a Joey Porter Cardinals jersey now.

And Gerald Hayes went to College in Pittsburgh
The connection continues!!!

Isnt Larry Foote supposed to come in for a visit today?
Is Porters visit not scheduled until thursday?

Larry Foote today
The initial report I heard regarding Porter was Thursday.

Holy crap. Hahaha
This LB corps. would be ridiculous. I just hope we pay them a lot less than the Steelers did…
+1
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
My only worries are
Will they be more of the same from last year?
I am not sure I wanted aged LB’s that are one dimensional.
What kind of productivity will we be getting out of these guys?
Mostly, will these old dudes be able to cover a TE?
They are who we thought they were!
whiz likes to ease young players in
its how hes always done it u need teachers for those guys i trust whiz he knows how to build a team.Besides 9 0 is gonna keep anyone in check on that side of the ball hes the leader.
While they are older, Whiz knows what he is getting with these guys
which makes them less of an unknown. Lots of coaches pull guys from their old teams.

I think Porter and Foote will be here
I think Porter and Foote, but Porter especially will realize Cody Brown is the man coming up and Stevie Baggs so I’m not so concerned about OLB as most. I think Will Davis is very good also and only going to get better. I think we need a great CB or NT in the draft 1 st round if we make these pic ups.
Actually been thinking the same
I am torn as to what I want to see happen. If we sign Porter & Foote then we arent going to be taking any LB in the first or second round (unless someone falls far that the Cards love). if we dont sign them then our picks in the first 2 rounds are most likely going to be LB (maybe not the 2nd). If we sign Porter & Foote and “Spoon” is still availalbe I think I would still take him 1st round. He can play any spot in a 3-4 I think so maybe try him out his rookie year to play all of them with the idea of becoming the Leader at ILB his sophmore year. Who knows though. Maybe they want to sign Porter & Foote to address other areas of concern like NT in the 1st round, who knows. Its really hard to sit back and be patient though. I wouldnt be opposed to signing them both and then if we pick up LBs that you just cant pass on trading them.

If we draft a NT first round
does that mean we gave up on Gabe Watson? He’s only a few years removed from being a 4th round draft pick and I remember how much love he was getting in the offseason previous to his freak ‘fat man fall off treadmill’ accident. I kind of hoped this would be his break out year like last year was CC’s.
