I've been looking at the development of our defense and am very encouraged by our progress. We do have some needs that will, I'm sure, be addressed in the draft (NT, CB, LB) but my curiosity is now directed to our offensive line. With Levi moving to the left tackle and Gandy being gone, I am anxious to see the development of Herman Johnson. I really have no doubt the he will be, probably even this coming season, a great guard or tackle in the rushing scheme, but the preseason games where he will show whether he has the footwork to pass protect for Matt are what I am looking forward to. He and Brandon Keith battling it out for the right side will be very entertaining, but I sure would like to see Herman's skill level to have progressed sufficiently to get the start at right tackle. I'm sure Matt will agree that to have this munster ... monster on his right side would be very comforting, and something opposing teams wouldn't be anxious to see.
I like the fact that our Cards are getting more intimidating, something that has been happening ever since Whiz got here. I would love to see a truly frightening OL, and having Herman on the right side would most definitely be a plus.
Who do you think is more likely to start at Right Tackle, Herman Johnson or Brandon Keith?
