Revenge Of The Birds Community Mock Draft: 27th Pick, Dallas Cowboys

Photo

The with the 27th pick of the Revenge of the Birds community mock draft, the Dallas Cowboys select...

Charles Brown | Offensive Tackle | USC

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

GM: manderson367

Strengths: In pass protection he possesses agility and footwork necessary make and maintain blocks. Powerful and compact punch. Long arms and shows good quickness off the snap and gets into sound position, plus he has the lateral quickness to scoop defensive tackles and hook defensive ends. Ability to help the guard with his inside hand while keeping head on a swivel and looking for blitzes. Good quickness down field as a run blocker. Can get to the second level and adjusts nicely to the moving target.

Weaknesses: Would like to see more of a mean streak. He is undersized but has the frame to add bulk. Can become fundamentally lazy and lean on his opponent rather than sliding his feet, even allowing much slower defenders beating him inside. Questionable balance and slips off too many blocks.

Why the Cowboys will draft him: The age of the offensive line was a concern last season and with the release of Flozell Adam a few weeks ago, depth is also an issue. Protecting Romo's blind side is a priority and Charles Brown will help address that need. He might be a bit of a reach as a 1st round pick, but this is a time that need triumphs "best available".

Thanks to manderson367 for making the Cowboys pick. The Chargers pick will be made later today by me since I didn't hear from their GM. That puts Drullin'OverDaCards and tooman234 on the clock. The last two picks are on deck so please be ready in the next day or so. Please email your picks to revengeofthebirds@gmail.com. The picks are after the jump...

Not gonna happen...

…They may want a tackle with their first pick, but Brown does not fit their profile of big maulers. The Cowboys line is 350 lb area while Brown is not even at 300 lbs. This guy might get tacken by the Packers or the Colts, perfect fit for both teams.

Bad choice.

Dallas likes their lineman huge and strong; Charles Brown is everything but. In fact, the only reason Brown’s a late 1st round prospect is because concerns that he is too small.
