Arizona Cardinals 2010 Schedule Release: Open Thread

The NFL is set to release the 2010 schedule in a moment for each team. We already know who the Cardinals will play, but when has yet to be determined. I thought an open thread would be favorable for anyone who wants to talk about it. I'll go out on a limb and say the Cardinals get three prime time games at the most. I would expect one Monday Night Football game and two Sunday Night'ers. And I'll make a bold prediction and say one will be against The San Francisco 49ers. Any thoughts as the schedule is released? Tune into NFL Network or ESPN 2 to find out. I'll post a story on the schedule later.

Cardinals rank as easiest schedule in the NFL

Nothing wrong with that. But also means no excuses.

That's what the critics will point to when they win the division again.

Of course they’ll brush off the fact that the rest of the division played mostly the same opponents.

Cardinals vs 49ers week 17.

There is no other team in the division with any likelihood of making the playoffs. If we don’t see it week 17, it will be week 16. All part of Goodell’s attempt to squash uncompetitive meaningless games at season’s end.

They can be flexed to Sunday night tho, right?

Yea, but....

The only game I could see possibly getting moved is the week 9 game against the Vikings. The primetime game that week is the Cowboys at Packers, so it could be tough for that game to get switched out for us.

We’ll just have to see how well we play the first few weeks.

by Pyromnc on Apr 20, 2010 5:35 PM MDT up reply actions

Actually...

I don’t even think this game can be moved up. Looking at the rules and it looks like games before week 11 can’t be flexed to Sunday Night Football.

by Pyromnc on Apr 20, 2010 5:38 PM MDT up reply actions

The last 2 games could be flexed in easily.

All depends on the conditions heading into the playoffs. A head to head fight for the division in week 17 would land us there.

Scratch the cowboy game.

Didn’t notice it was the christmas game.

according to sando over at espn

Games against the Chiefs, Rams, Broncos, Panthers and 49ers are subject to flex scheduling.

Ron Jaworski: "This is a chance to see how good the 49ers are, or how BAD the Cardinals are"

They really want us to fail huh?

So, Christmas game on NFL Network against the Cowboys and Monday Night against the 49ers. Both in Glendale.

Key Games

Saints here in week 5 – This is a big game for the Cards as they should be looking to get some sort of redemption against the team that trounced them out of the playoffs.

At Seahawks in week 7 – Coming off a bye in week 6, Leinart will be facing his former coach in Pete Carroll. Should be an interesting matchup, one we should win based on talent.

Niners here in week 12 – Not only is it the first game between rivals it’s our first prime time game on Monday night. This is a must win for the Cards if they want to win the division for the third straight season.

Cowboys here in week 16 – This is another primetime game that features our rival on Christmas night. Should be a fun game to watch and could be a game that decides the playoffs.

At Niners in week 17 – Final game of the regular season comes against our division rival and just like the last 2 games could be a playoff decider. The Niners are looking to be much better the upcoming season and should be our only competition for the division win. This will most likely be another “must win” game.

Glad we dont play the 49ers so soon

What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

Starting off with the Rams should be a win for Leinart.

not a bad road schedule

after week 2, we don’t play any back to back road games which is nice. another early bye week sucks. the only good teams we play on the road are the saints and the vikes?

the schedule difficulty is such BS. looking at last year’s records is a bad way to figure out difficulty. look at new orleans- superbowl winners last year, didn’t make the playoffs the year before

by najmsh on Apr 20, 2010 5:31 PM MDT reply actions

Saints are here in week 5

The hard road games will be the Chargers and Vikings.

by Pyromnc on Apr 20, 2010 5:32 PM MDT up reply actions

Great schedule, the team should do well.

The last four games look like the hardest run of the year.

Can you add the schedule to this post Andrew?

Since it will be a little bit faster than making a whole new one.

NFL network final superbowl verdict

i didnt agree with there process but i did believe in the final verdict charger should take it all the way. But I want the Cardinals to be in the playoffs but i am not expecting it,but im expect some great games!

Very fair sched between us and SF, though

All our games of similar opponents are at the same locations, e.g
We both play SD, ATL, CAR and KC on the road and NO, TB, OAK and DEN at home, except that their game vs Denver is in London.
So the difference in sched comes down to:
AZ @Minn + home to Dallas
SF @GB + home to Pha
should be an interesting season and besides our head to head those 4 games may decide the division.

NO RESPECT

Cards were 2-2 in primetime last year….had one of the highest rated games against the vikes!!!too many mediocre teams like bears and 49`ers with more primetime games
i guess they are banking on the graet rating`s draw of the future hall of famer ALEX SMITH!!!!

The Schedule looks good

I think the schedule is favorable to us. And I for one, could care less about the lack of respect. For what its worth, our team seems to feed off of it so that’s a good thing.
