Sergio Kindle at ILB???
I have hesitated to share a thought because I wasn't sure how I felt about it but now that the draft is tomorrow I'd thought I would throw it out there. A month or so ago I was reviewing a couple of games of Kindle and I was impressed with his athletic ability. He has a good motor and is all over the field. But I also noticed that he rarely beat his man in the pass rush one on one. Most of his sacks were coverage sacks or just stupid QB play. The more I thought about it the more he reminded me, to a degree, of Dansby. At 6'2 250 Kindle is big and fast. But like Dansby he is not a great pash rusher. He could become one but he isn't yet. That comparison to Dansby made we wonder if Kindle would be more impactful inside. He brings most of the skills to the position Dansby had, but he is far more physical than Dansby, especially in the hole. I think as an ILB he is a potential pro bowl player in a few years.
I still wonder if it would be a wise move (a great pass rusher is perfered over a great ILB), but if the Cards did pick Kindle would they do it with an eye on the ILB....? Just a thought.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

Dansby transferred to the inside. Why not Kindle?
They’ve shown a willingness to move a talented guy to another spot so I don’t see why not. Kindle’s ability to move side to side is touted fairly highly. He’s a guy they would have to seriously consider if he’s there at #26 regardless. He is much more well rounded than many of the other OLB prospects. He can drop in coverage. He’s good against the run. Not solely a pass rusher. I picked him for New England in our mock draft so obviously I’d be happy with him as a Cardinal. You’re the first person I’ve heard suggest moving him inside. Now that the idea is out there, I wonder why that is. Probably because he played last season as a DE.
Kindal wont be there.
Cody is falling and Pouncey would be my pick, but his stock is riseing. We need another fatboy and Cody is my #4 DL, becouse we run a 3-4. A Big-Boy is a must and Gabe Watson has been hurt.
I am not a fan of taking guards in the first round.
Even I was, this isn’t a need at all. I am a fan for going for BPA but to some extent. I think you have to have some sort of need for the player you are taking.
Pouncey is a center.
The only center with a first round grade. I think the next center rates as a third round grade. He’ll be long gone. I’m not a big fan of Sendlein. He wasn’t terrible last year but in 08 he pulled some major boners. I don’t think they would have Pouncey high on their list but a guy like him at the position would be a great addition to our offensive line.
He would be I think defense is a much bigger need
And can’t Hadnot play center? They could always throw him in the mix if Lyle is screwing up.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
In 08 Sendlein played hurt.
I understand that there are a lot of fans out there that don’t like him but he played well last year and I believe Whiz and Grimm when they say they think he could develop into a pro bowl center.
Obviously your allowed to dislike or like him as there were players I didn’t like in the past that everyone else loved but I just think there are bigger needs here than taking a C/G in the first rounds.
I agree
I think Sendlein played very well. Other than the 49er games where he got worked in the middle, he did a very good job last year.

I agree center is in no way a first round choice for the Cardinals.
A NT, LB or a CB is all they should be looking for in the first round. I didn’t mean to suggest they should look for a center. I don’t think they will go offensive line at all in the first 2 rounds. I just like Pouncey and think an upgrade at center would improve the run game.
Kindle at ILB
Sounds like a great idea. We need LB’s that are good all around, I really don’t think we need an OLB that’s strong suit is rushing. We need LB’s that can cover guys and stop the run. The D scheme we use is about having pressure come from everywhere. With Rhodes and A-Dub in the back field, Porter, Calais, and Darnell I think we will generate a lot of pressure. We had 43 sacks last year (6th best) with our OLB’s basically doing nothing. Now we have Porter…
So, basically, LB’s like Kindle would be a perfect fit in my opinion.

Sounds like a good idea
It seems to make sense on paper. I think the Cards are in a good position for the first round because there are numerous players who could help next year. One of them are bound to fall to us. Since we don’t have too many holes, taking the BDPA shouldn’t be too difficult.
LaRussa makes too much sense too little of the time.

I disagree about not needing an OLB that brings pressure.
Porter should provide that for us for at least the next year or two. We’ll see what Brown and Baggs and the rest can do this year too. I don’t think it’s a pressing need draft wise this year but it is a piece of the system that needs improvement. If the opposing team has to plan around a threat off the edge every play it opens up what the defense can do. They won’t have to rely as heavily on blitz packages and at the same time those blitzes can become even more effective. It would also allow more options in coverage. A pair of edge rushing demons, either on the field together or in rotation, would be even better.
Only IF...
Sean Witherspoon & Brandon Graham is not available. Then I would recommend Sergio Kindle. Theres Daryl Washington (TCU) & Angerer (IOWA) available later as well.
Hopefully we can draft 2 out of the 5 in within the first 3 rounds.

Brandon Graham
I’ve read recently that some teams just don’t see Graham as an OLB. Could be smoke and mirrors but who knows. Apparently they don’t think he’s got the skills to drop in coverage and would be relegated to pass rushing.
