Revenge Of The Birds Big Board For Rounds Two And Three

The second and third rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft will begin later today(6:00 PM ET) and the Arizona Cardinals have three picks. Since we more or less knew who and what position the Cardinals would target in the first round, I was reluctant to make a big board. But now that 32 draftees are out of the mix, now would be the best time to accumulate the talent that is left on a big board so that we can visually see who the Cardinals should select.

A big board is generally a list of the top players in the draft. The list can also be based on players by talent or need. In our case, I'd like to make a list based on a little of both. There are 66 picks all together in rounds two and three. I'll create my own list but I want to get the input of anyone who's willing to do so. Feel free to add your own players to the list by leaving a comment.

Update: My big board is complete and I'll admit that it's easier said then done. You can either take the best player available approach, or the needs approach. I tried to do both. You can see it after the jump...

Nobody has a list of players they want in the 2nd and 3rd?

Guess I’ll start. Here’s my top five so far.

1. Sergio Kindle, OLB
2. Daryl Washington, ILB
3. Everson Griffen, DE
4. Rodger Saffold, OT
5. Charles Brown, OT

What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

I have a hard time prioritizing

but Kindle is my top choice

Heard he might have to have micro surgery on his knee.

I think I would prefer Washington or Brown after that news.

I found making a 1st round mock too tedious. Making a big board would be worse.

As far as who I’d like in the 2nd and 3rd, any of the top ILBs, any of the top remaining CBs. I also really like Kindle but expect he will be long gone. Undoubtedly they will be targeting an ILB in the 2nd. The 3rd round will be the start of the guessing game. I’d prefer they stack the defense. I’d only like to see an offensive player today if it’s someone that unexpectedly lands in their lap in the third round.

Agreed

They are who we thought they were!

Daryl Washington

would be a steal at #58. With the guys left, he could slip out of the top 40.

by Long Beach on Apr 23, 2010 11:42 AM MDT reply actions

That would be sweet.

In some mocks he’s still around after our 2nd pick. I don’t see that happening. We won’t skip an ILB for a freaking TE.

Okay I posted mine

I included some DTs and WRs for the sake that if they are available by our third round picks, it would be hard to pass on them if they are considered steals at that point.

What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

I agree. I think we go with OT – LB – or CB with second round pick BPA. I do not think any of your top 5 will be there at our pick can only wish – but did not think Williams would be there at 26 either. The next 6 I would add are: Vlad Ducasse – Mays – Cook – Misi – Butler – Sapp

I've tried to create the thought of the Cardinals taking Mays but I just don't see it

Why? Why would they if they already have Wilson and Rhodes? I’m seriously asking. haha

Is the whole list way off or just that one pick?

So glad to see Gronkowski on your list

Not that I expect him to be available, or even necessarily the best option, but I have been curious why his name never seems to come up.

He's a great player

but the reports about him having spinal stenosis aren’t helping his cause, and I’d imagine missing all of last season has something to do with the lack of coverage about him as well.

I do agree, if he’s healthy, that he’d be a steal for us in the third. He’s drawn a lot of comparisons to Dallas TE Jason Witten (from what I’ve seen, rightfully so.)

Anyone see us really making back to back picks in the 3rd?

Unless there are two great players there I see us trading back with someone and picking up a pick in the 5th

I can it happening if there are two good options available

I’m curious to see how it goes down.

where is marty gillard. I would love to get him. Good return man to pair with LSH and a real nice slot receiver.

Kindle sucks.

Why is everybody so high on him? He doesn’t really have a burst, his only pass-rush move is the bullrush, and he wasn’t at all productive last season without Brian Orakpo opposite of him. He is very overrated, and I am SO glad we did not pick him up as many pegged us to.
