What's Up ROTB!!!
In The Name Of God The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
Peace, What's up everybody? This is Hamza Abdullah, safety number 41 for the Arizona Cardinals. I'm doing my first blog, so I figured I might as well do it for the fans. I'm just as much of a fan as anyone (especially of the NBA). I'm actually watching my favorite basketball team as we speak...we'll get into that later. When I was a member of the Denver Broncos, shout out to all the Bronco fans, my buddy Domonique Foxworth had a blog and I thought it was a great way for the fans to get to know him as well as what goes on behind the scenes. I'm not a big blogger, but one thing I must say is I don't like the negative blogs. That's not what this is. This isn't a tally of how many times we can say we hate someone or such and such sucks. Nope, not here. Not now, not ever. In the words of a great Coach,
"Can not Play with them, Can not win with them, Can not coach with them, Can’t Do It"...
And I'd like to add, Can not Blog with them". One thing we must all remember is no matter how much money a person makes, it doesn't give us a right to degrade, dehumanize or just plain dis. So Thank you. I know my Mother in Law is going to read this, and if she sees something on here she doesn't like, she might get her belt. I like to have fun, I love laughing and I love YouTube. So if you have any for me, don't hesitate to send them. Speaking of YouTube, have you seen "I don't like you Mommy" hahaha, classic. I know there's somebody out there saying, man I been reading this dudes blog and he hasn't said one thing about the team. My bad sir. I'll get right on it. Sir yes Sir. I'll give you that SIR sandwich. haha, If you ever want to throw off your boss, coach, dad or whoever, give them the sir sandwich. hahaha. I love it.
The team is doing great, you'll be glad to know everyone is here in Tempe working hard and trying to take the first step in accomplishing our goals. Offseason training is crucial in the NFL, and the good teams have great participation. All the new additions to the team have one thing in common. They want to win. They're hard workers and natural leaders. I work out with Kerry Rhodes everyday, and he's a great teammate and leader. When guys are huffing and puffing, he's right there to encourage guys and give them those words that will give them that extra boost. Joey Porter is a beast in the weight room, whatever exercise or lift he's doing, I make sure I'm not doing it at the same time. I want to believe I'm getting better and stronger. It's not cool to think you're "beasting" your workout, and you look over and Joey is doing 100 LBS, more then you...not cool. We have a lot of fun though, this is a great time because we get to do football, family and our hobbies. I just picked up golf, well, it's been picking me up lately, but it's a lot of fun. I have that new golfer crave. Kind of like the first time you have anything from Starbucks. I wear golf shirts when i'm not playing golf, I'm always watching the golf channel, i'm making any excuse I can to go to the driving range. Yeah it's pretty bad right now. But it's fun and I like hanging out with my teammates and getting to know their families. I'm supposed to be going over Matt Ware's house to watch a few of the NBA Playoff games. So me, the wife and the kids are excited for that. Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Sir yes Sir. I forgot...The team is coming together nicely , a lot of new faces and some old ones who are working their tail off. Leading that list is Early Doucet and Steve Breaston. They know they have a great opportunity ahead of them, and they are doing their best to take advantage. I love seeing young guys working hard. I'm not a super vet, but I've been blessed to be in for a little while, and one thing you never get tired of seeing, is young, hard working players. I love it, and I know they'll do well.
Thanks a bunch for having me, I'll be back soon to just chop it up. If you have any suggestions, questions or funnies for me feel free to leave a comment. My wife is giving me that eye, that what are you doing eye, so I have to wrap it up. But I can't leave without saying I was fortunate to play in the same defensive backfield with 2 future Hall of Famers in Champ Bailey and John Lynch, and again I'm fortunate to play with another one in Adrian Wilson. He's a beast. Now there are a lot of beasts in the NFL, but among those beasts, there are bigger more ferocious beast. 24 in red fits into that category. Thanks Cardinals fans, I know some of you are also Suns fans so I'll leave you with the best dunk of the year..." AMARE STOUDEMIRE KILLS ANTHONY TOLLIVER"
Peace

Welcome to ROTB
Always nice to see some of the players on these Blogs. I saw Chris Harris and Kevin Payne on the Bears blog too. Can’t wait for the season to start.
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan.
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad.
My biggest question is how many players from the team know about this site?
Remember no matter where you go in life...there you are!

I know that there have been a few interviews.
I remember seeing something with our new member Abdullah around the time of the Packers playoff game so he probably knew about this site for a little while. And I believe that Fitz, Patrick, Brandon Keith, and a couple of other people I can’t think of have done interviews here.

Fitz def didn't know what ROTB or blogging at that was. He's too busy. Don't forget LSH.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
You never got to that later...
Who’s your team? I am a PHX fan living in California with a bunch of LA fans. Gonna be a fun series.
They are who we thought they were!

I'm in the same situation.
I’ve already had to argue with some Laker fans, and game 1 is still a week away.
It must be that time of day, the time to focus on sports.
Thanks for stopping by Hamza. Great to hear from you.
I don’t blame you for not wanting to workout next to Joey. I’d feel the same way. Hope we get to hear from you soon.

Great to have you around Hamza
Love the line about #24
You can’t go wrong with failblog on youtube. Consistent gold.
Welcome Aboard!
Great to see you here and to listen to your inside view of our team. I’m a huge fan of #24 and love the look of our defense as a whole. Glad to hear the new guys are fitting in. Look forward to hearing more from you.
Kick it!

Thanks for joining us.
I’m sure some other players read our stuff but can’t comment because this is a type of media. Thanks for popping in and controlling your output. Keep us in your reading circle as we’ll keep you in our hearts. Go CARDS!!!
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.

Haha! Loved it.
Thanks for the blog. Love the insight to the workouts. Go jump in next to Porter, him showing you up will make you push yourself harder. Lol. I know the eye you speak of as the wife gives it to me often, in interest of public safety it is generally best to heed “the eye”. Great to hear about the young and the new guys getting in and busting it. Looking forward to a great season.
How you like the new jersey’s?
Welcome Hamza
I agree completely with you wanting to keep it positive. That’s why I love this sight. A lot of the blogs are completely negative and filled with ugly banter back and forth. Everyone here at ROTB on the other hand, seems to bring a much classier attitude and good sense of humor to their posts, and I really appreciate it.

awesome that players are willing and able to jump on ROTB occasionally. As fans we only get so much insight so a player’s perspective is always welcome.
Youtube video – only because I saw this yesterday and it’s fresh in my mind, kind of messed up to laugh at it but I guarantee it’ll get some kind of reaction out of you. “Baby kicked by Breakdancer”.

Studying…well.. semi studying for ASU finals as I read this and that visual completely lightened my mood and made me laugh.

Positive Theme
I am excited to see you on here, Hamza. Further, I’m excited for future postsand hope the blogs continue (if possible) throughout the season. It would certainly be something special to get an inside look at the team, and perhaps your perspective, throughout the upcoming season.
What I took away from your blog is a common theme I’ve noticed throughout the last few years as the Cardinals have found success: comraderie. The Cardinals seem to be a true team in all aspects of the word. The veterans are willing to help the young guys and everybody seems to be there to help push each other to that next level, all the while helping to maintain that positive attitude that you are working towards a common goal. Sounds like a great recipe for success.
Much love and keep up the blogging!
Indeed
Remeber that Whiz usually takes the team bowling and to the movies during training camp. That alone builds a very close bond. They did the same for me when I played football in high school.

Welcome
Good to hear from players every once in a while to get a real feel how things are progressing. I know we all can’t wait for the season to start, a little sad considering its several months away. So really all we have are the occasional blogs and roster updates, so thank you again for chiming in. I have a rec for a great OTA we did with my hockey team growing up every year… paintball…. No better way to take frustrations out on your teammates than blasting them with a paintball gun:)
Sounds like there's some real "beastiality" going on in that weight room...
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt or a Hurricane?
Hold on, hold on, what if the Hurricanes name was Whisenhunt?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!
