Arizona Cardinals Photo Of The Day: Gerald Hayes At OTAs
Today's photo of the day is from this past week's OTAs. Inside linebacker Gerald Hayes returned to action and participated in drills despite missing all of the previous workouts to rest a bad back. Also in the photo are linebacker's Monty Beisel (52), Mark Washington (96) and Joey Porter (55). Can the Cardinals linebackers get the job done next season or will their age and lack of experience cause problems?

I don't like
Washington wearing #96.
He needs to wear a 45-59 jersey.
Just a lil pet peeve.

Wouldn't be so bad if he was going to play on the outside
but yeah it looks wrong to me too.

I knew
that’s what you were thinking, just responded to see if you’ve awoken from your summertime hibernation.
Can you imagine listening to the national media if Mark makes the team and they both end up starting in a year? They’ll drive Cardinal fans crazy talking about how we got Mark from TCU and how Daryl has really surprised everyone with his play at OLB, etc.
Actually I don't update that list
It’s automatic. But I believe it is because they haven’t signed yet. You know I wouldn’t forget something like that. ;)
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
Compared to last season
I don’t think there’s any question that we’re better off at OLB, whether or not it’s where we need to be remains to be seen, but they can’t be any less effective as pass rushers so if we get any production at all from Porter, Davis, Brown, Baggs, etc., we’re already upgraded.
Inside LB scares the hell out of me. Losing Dansby won’t be solved overnight. In time, I think Daryl Washington will be an outstanding player for us, and will really excel in pass coverage unlike any ILB we’ve seen and is fast enough to create havoc in the running game. Until then, we’re putting Lenon in Dansby’s place and no matter how much he exceeds expectations I can’t realistically see how it’s not a downgrade from last year. The other side worries me even more. Hayes has to stay healthy, no way around it. Without him it’s Beisel, unless Reggie Walker is ready to back Hayes up, and being honest that isn’t going to cut it, even with improved play from our NTs.
Hayes is key and that i do agree with you for sure! He's a beast as a run stopper and above average in coverage.
Very underrated
That’s all I can say. You could see the difference when he didn’t play last season.

Yeah I was thinking the same when I read it. Ha, ha, ha.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.
True that...
One of the most underrated in the nfl…Although if Williams can become who we want I dont see dansby’s departure nearly as painful
