Anthony Davis vs. Darnell Dockett

So long beach had a post about welcoming anthony davis into the NFL.  I believe Dockett is one of the better if not the best Dlineman in the NFC west currently. Is Anthony Davis gifted? Yes, Strong? probably,  does he have high expectations? I believe so...however the sweep last year isnt sitting well with anyone so I say Dockett gives him a "Hey rookie, welcome to the Nfl"...4 sacks...11 hurries...What about you?

The rookie hasn't played many Defensive Linemen like 9-0 yet

I think Dockett will outplay him, but Davis will be a lot better next year.

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.

If we can isolate

that match-up we’ll have our revenge. However, to give Singletary his due I can’t see his gameplan being designed that poorly.

I'm a Niner fan and I voted no.

I also feel Dockett is one of the best in the league but Justin Smith is just but thats another discussion. Anyways like I have said Seymour will be his first true test but Dockett will be his biggest. If he somehow manages to hold dd and Porter all day I’ll expect big things from the kid.

It's a pretty well rounded indicator.

Of players or teams overall play in games and seasons.

Kind of like saying

Ashomugha isnt as good as another DB because his stats are lower…

So...

Vernon Davis is the 57th best TE in the game and Manny Lawson is the 9th best OLB? Everything with a grain of salt…

They are who we thought they were!

Well there’s what 11 teams that run a 3-4 it’s not unimaginable for Manny to be 9th considering he’s our best all around OLB. As for Vernon although he had a great year last year he still has below average hands to me to be considered elite but 57th is extreme. Again the website is just for entertainment.

Sheer something

I’ll have to let Whisenhunt and his staff know that Alan Branch is ranked as the #10 3-4 DE in the league and DD is #27.

Won’t they feel stupid?

by Long Beach on Jun 13, 2010 11:03 PM MDT up reply actions

I'll give Niner Nation this

if he holds his own with DD as a rookie he’ll have my vote for R.O.Y.

If he stops DD

It will be a long year for the NFC West.
Iupati is the one I am scared of, I think he delivers right away for them.

They are who we thought they were!

He's a beast

but my disappointment with him ending up in SF was quickly alleviated when Williams fell to #26.

I think Calais was in the top 10.

Doesn't surprise me.

Like I said theirs only 11 teams that ran a 3-4 last year Campbell was a great pick especially comparing him and Balmer (our first round pick). Your D-line can shape up to be one of the best 3-4 lines in the league.

by Mullester on Jun 14, 2010 11:39 PM MDT up reply actions

Smith is a beast.

Led the league in QB pressure at 44. No one was close to that at as 3-4DE.

They are who we thought they were!

+1

Now if we can just get the Niners and Vikings to trade head coaches to make that gameplan a reality…

After Favre is done, Chilly will be nothing.
