Arizona Cardinals Tiny Bird Droppings: Analyzing The Lineups
NFL - Yahoo! Sports | Whisenhunt must put RBs in comfort zones
The 2009 Arizona Cardinals, who lost in the divisional round of the playoffs to the Super Bowl-winning Saints, were actually a better team than the 2008 version that came one Santonio Holmes miracle catch short of winning Super Bowl XLIII.
Clifton Brown - NFL - Sporting News | Leinart, Haynesworth, others feel the heat of summer
Summer arrived Monday, and some prominent NFL players are in sticky situations. Start with Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart, who has the difficult task of succeeding Kurt Warner.
FoxSports.com | NFL's top 100 players (Nos. 81-100)
Ah, the ol’ Schrager Top 100 list, an annual summer tradition on FOXSports.com. If you’re not familiar, here are the rules: 1. Which player would I rather have on my team? 2. Which player would make the most impact on my team? 3. Which player will be the best in 2010, specifically?
Sporting News | Kolb, four others face daunting task of replacing big-timers
With Boldin now in Baltimore, Breaston is expected to start opposite Larry Fitzgerald. Despite the loss of Boldin, coach Ken Whisenhunt believes the wide receivers can still put up impressive numbers.
NFC West Blog - ESPN | Arizona weakness: Quarterback
I have worries at inside linebacker, offensive tackle and cornerback for Arizona, but in my opinion, those worries pale in comparison to the quarterback position.

Nobody believes... yet.
Everybody seems to doubt Leinert has it in him to be successful. I still believe in him, but now is the time to prove you belong.
Otherwise, I’m liking Skelton and Hall so far. I hope we keep both for now. (I liked Hall for the back-up/possible future starter role before the draft…)
I personally predict that Skelton will impress the hell out of Whiz this year
And Leinart will only be lukewarm, and they’ll cut ties with him after this coming season and move Skelton into the starting role.

I think it will take more that one year for Skelton to be ready.

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
Yeah but the Cards HAVE to make a decision on Leinart after this season
Because his salary jumps up big time.

I think he will do well enough to stay here.
But they will have to renegotiate his contract.

A decision must be made after this year
But if Leinart plays great, it will be re-signing him.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
I'm real curious to see how that plays out
We know it would take an amazing year to bring him back without a new deal in place, but I wonder how he’ll react to having his balloon payment pulled? With any luck it’s a debate we’ll still be having throughout the year.
+1
Contradictory as this will sound, I don’t see Hall making the active roster this year but I can see him being our starter before Skelton is. I know how that sounds, but everything I’m hearing about Hall leads me to believe he is more pro-ready at this point, and when there is a legit opportunity for a roster spot he’ll take it. I just don’t see us carrying two rookies on the active roster and I really don’t see Skelton on the PS, he’d get snapped up before the designation was even official.
That's my feeling on it
If we want to have a little bit better chance to win we’ll play Hall. If the season’s lost and there’s not much point, maybe Skelton will get the experience. This is a very early assessment of things, though.
Everyone's just afraid of the unknown
While I’ve seen nothing of Leinart that makes me think he’s going to be the best quarterback ever, I also haven’t seen anything that makes me think he’s any worse than Trent Edwards, Jason Campbell, Kevin Kolb, Matt Cassell, Kyle Orton, etc. And the Cards’ supporting cast is way better than the supporting cast on a lot of those teams without an elite QB.

Everyone is acting like Kevin Kolb will be an elite QB and the Eagles won't miss a step without McNabb.
But in the games he played in last year.
7 of 11 for 23 yards [2.1 yards per attempt? I could do better than that and my arm is like a twig] against the Panthers after McNabb got hurt.
31 of 51 for 391 yards, 2 TDs, and 3 Picks against the Saints in a blowout loss.
24 of 34 for 327 yards and 2 TDs against the Chiefs in a blowout win against a HORRIBLE pass defense.
And lets not forget that the guy has a career passer rating of 68.9 with 4 TDs and 7 Picks, and he looked awful when I saw him in 2008.
At least with Leinart, we have seen more than two quality games out of him. You know what you are getting, and to be honest, people should stop talking about how great Kevin Kolb is going to be because we don’t even know how he is going to do as a starter.

Good points Joe
Makes it seem odd that he got such a large contract with the Eagles too.

These numbers definelty look like Matt Leinart is a horrible quarterback. This was against the 2006 Bears Defense that took them to the super bowl.
Matt Leinart is the NFL’S WORST QUARTERBACK!!

He even had a great running game and he still couldn't deliver at QB. Take a look.

Why did they keep giving the ball to him?

Trying being the key word in that sentence. Terrible numbers.

I would just dump the ball off to someone on every play then.
At least it might get more yards that Edge was there, and it would pad Leinarts stats.

That's not very objective.
With no interceptions, he had an 88.6 QB rating. You’re better off citing the the next game (week 7) with 14/35 passing, 40.6 cmp%, 0 TD, and 2 INT for a 36.3 QB rating.
But, if you’re going to take those two games as examples, then why not cite WEEK 11 (19/29, 65.5 cmp%, 1 TD, 0 INT, 101.6 QB rating) and
WEEK 13 (15/24, 62.5 cmp%, 1 TD, 0 INT, 100.3 QB rating) ?
I believe there is enough evidence over the years to be hopeful. What else is there for a fan to do?
Wasn't that Week 7 game against the Raiders too?
I do think that he was being sarcastic though.

He was definitely being sarcastic.
Hence the great running game from Edge at 36 att/ 55 yards.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.
But I don't understand...He was the strongest man in the NFL??
