So basically

they’re saying that Fitz is the only great player on our offense? We’ve managed to score an awful lot of points over the past couple of seasons with all these “mediocre” players.

I don’t know how they could have any grade at all on rookies, considering no one has seen them play so much as a preseason game yet. Per usual, Daryl Washington is listed in the wrong position.

by Long Beach on Jun 28, 2010 11:33 AM MDT reply actions

Think the rookies go mostly off of hype, college production, and round selected

Probably a Scouts Inc. grade thrown in there… not really sure, though. Sounds like a lot of solid factors for a flawed and inconsistent grading system.

They always have problems placing LBs correctly in a 3-4

I think the first time the Cards officially switched to a 3-4, they still had Berry & Okeafor at end… There are so many of the defenses now I’m not sure why they haven’t implemented it better. At the start of every franchise you’ll see all the 3-4 D’s ejecting all their backup MLBs and going with the (4-3) minimum of 2 players at the position. It’s the same problem with DT. A 3-4 doesn’t necessarily require 3 (as we saw last year). Changing the defensive scheme you run should change the req’s for each position…

I don’t strongly disagree with most of the ratings yet because the season hasn’t actually started, but by the end of pre- I expect to see:
Leinart, TItz & Doucet + + +
Ware > RJ
The LBs are all a-jumble…

Think we all know Patrick needs more love, but I think they view him as primarily a receiving TE and his receptions aren’t great.

Too lazy to check but does anyone have Warner's speed from last year?

What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

55 or 54

They think Leinart is as slow as Warner, although Leinarts acceleration was in the low 60s while Warners was in the high 40s last year.

Boobs, Sendlein, Patrick, Washington, and Dan Williams grades

Are pretty bad. Dont agree with them.

Happy with Keith, Becht, Toler, Hayes, and Campbells rating.

Overall the defense looks much better then the offense according to these ratings.

ESPN is going to be releasing some of the complete ratings over the next few days

So we will get to see everything in a little while.

The Jets and Dolphins ones came out today.

Video is down now. EA removed it.

I’m glad I wrote down everything on here instead of just posting the video.

How does Sendlein have several consistent years

as a young starter on an improving line and keep getting a 72? Hasn’t that been his rating for the past 3 years? According to Madden I guess he hasn’t improved a bit.
Our second rounders get ripped off, two years in a row now. Now Brown is understandable considering he didn’t play the whole year, but again, they don’t think he improved at all after a whole year of studying schemes and our defensive playbook?
Breaston got ripped off! How many other 1000 yard receivers are 80 overall? Doucet understandable but Breaston should be rated where he was left on in 2010 which I believe was around an 85.
My theory is that the guy who decides on the ratings for Madden has his favorite players, he continuously rates those players high. Then he has players he has to change or he’ll lose his job, other than that if they aren’t a favorite and he’s fulfilled his quota for changing ratings he just leaves them the same i.e. Sendlein, Doucet, and Hightower.

by cardsfanforlife24 on Jun 28, 2010 5:56 PM MDT reply actions

I think Breaston was around the same rating last year as he is now.

Agreed on Sendlein. I think he was the lowest rated starting Center last year.

Question

obviously they dont have confidence in Jim Dray of making the team and I would rank LaRod a little higher around 70 73 mainly because of his ability to get the third down conversion….. and I think broadly of the final 53 on this roster I dont see Miller here and im pretty sure he will make the team as well as Dray also im suprised they ranked Anderson so low but Skelton was almost as good as him..

by AZcardinals480 on Jun 28, 2010 6:17 PM MDT reply actions

Some people weren't in the Depth Chart

When the video was at the Defensive Ends you could see O’Brien listed as an LOLB but he wasn’t in the LOLB section of the video.

Miller and Dray may be on there.

Anderson was a 67 last year too.

but still suprising to see Skelton rated that high for a fourth rounder.

Anybody by any chance save the video?

It’s a long shot I know, but I’m just wondering. I’ve a source at EA but I can’t crack their ratings guys other than a few tidbits here or there and I want to know my 49ers’ ratings.

And then God created Saturn... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it.

I was actually thinking about posting it on there but when I was about to do it I saw that EA already took the video down.

ESPN is releasing the ratings though, so it won’t be long until you can see them. I did see a couple of the ratings for you guys [Alex Smith was somewhere between 79 and 77].

Yeah I have the majority of the roster already.

I’ve got some people in EA and I’ve got ratings for most of the starters.
