Ken Whisenhunt guest appeared on local radio station XTRA Sports 910 and talked about Deuce Lutui's weight, which was reported at nearly 400 pounds. Anyone else think he sounds upset?
"I have very little tolerance for that because, listen, this offseason, we had our guys in there working about as hard as I have ever been around. They are focused because everybody said we don’t have a chance, we lost all these players and we can’t do it. Our guys have really taken that challenge and worked hard. And it’s difficult when you have guys in there busting their tails and one of the players isn’t in there and then when he comes in and signs his contract, he’s pretty heavy. That is frustrating. The onus is on Deuce."

Deuce better work his butt off in camp
If he ever wants to see the field again.

I was really hoping
that report was being a little creative, but unfortunately it sounds like it was legit. Unbelievably bad move on Lutui’s part. At this point, hearing what the Whiz had to say about it, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets traded for future draft picks or a reliable back-up at a position deemed necessary.
Stupid, Stupid move on the part of somebody looking for a new contract. No way he gets one now.
Yeah deep down I was hoping it wasn't true
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was traded.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

Looks like Wells is a lock for the starting job
unless something dramatic happens.

Agree
Lutui has to work uphill to get his job back
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
Revenge of the Birds
I was kind of surprised that Whiz sounded this upset at the situation
That’s when you know Lutui screwed up.

His response
is what convinces me the report was true, it’s clear that he’s really pissed at Deuce right now. I don’t know that he’ll be able to dig his way out of this. The Whiz (and likely, the rest of the team) will see this as a total lack of commitment during a time when that is their battle cry.
He may get traded solely to send a message.
Couldn't agree more.
Lutui is in the dog house.

The door that once appeared to be
sealed shut may have been unlocked, will really look forward to seeing what a guy like Moosman might be able to do in training camp.
This is really dissappointing
I had some high hopes for Lutui after last season. I thought Wells played terrible and I wasn’t looking forward to seeing him play again.
But, I hope all works out and Wells really steps up this year.

Ouch
Sounds like someone’s in Whiz’s dog house. And for good reason. 400 lbs? Jesus. That’s huge for anyone regardless of the profession except maybe sumo wrestler.
That picture...
Whisenhunt just looks like he’s destined to become a Lombardi, Madden, Walsh type Coach…Is it just me and my homer kool-aid? Yeah I wouldnt mind getting a 4th or 5th for Duece…The way this staff has developed our picks we may as well get more Whiz guys on the roster than holdovers, right?
I would be all for a trade.
Set an example now before any of this poor attitude can spread. I don’t believe we’re in any kind of immediate trouble but if they make an example out of Lutui and get rid of him combine that with rewarding Dockett (really soon hopefully maybe next offseason?) after he changed his attitude and became team first oriented contract-wise than I believe we will have the exact attitude that we as fans and the Cards as an organization expect from our players.

This
is just disrespectful to the team. All the hard work they are doing and Lutui sits out gaining weight. I wouldn’t be too happy either when a player does that to himself and the team.
Da deuce can still be good say he drops
Weight and does the right things I don’t think wiz would be the type of guy to hold grudges
