What About You?
As you can see, it's a relatively slow day in Arizona Cardinals-land - well, aside from the news that Beanie Wells will be the spokesman for Blimpie Subs. I'll have some stories up tomorrow but for now I thought I'd build off of hevchv's post What's in a Name... Part 2?.
This time we'll dig a little deeper and get to know each other a little better. We've done this in the past but with the ever-growing SBN brand and all the new members at ROTB, one post just isn't enough. So here are some questions to answer:
What do you do(job)?
Where do you live?
How and when did you become a Cardinals fan?
Who is your favorite Cardinals player?
Something interesting about yourself:
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

Ok I'll go first
What do you do(job)? I work as a sales/customer service agent for an online company. Very easy stuff. I get a lot of down time to do whatever.
Where do you live? Phoenix, AZ, all my life
How and when did you become a Cardinals fan? I became a Cardinals fan at the start of the 2003 season. I have to admit Emmitt Smith drew me in. I was hooked after that year, especially when we knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs the last game of the year.
Who is your favorite Cardinals player? It was Anquan since 2003. Then Warner. Now it’s a three way tie between Wilson, Fitzgerald, and Dockett.
Something interesting about yourself: I would have to say writing for this site, but all of you guys know that. I am a huge MMA fan. Often spend my time at www.bloodyelbow.com.
So there it is. You guys better not leave me hanging here ;)
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

Great idea!
Its been awhile since I have posted on here so hopefully I can get back to being a regular.
What do you do(job)? – I am a Realtor with Remax Homes & Investments and have been in the business for over 5 years now.
Where do you live? – I live and grew up in Mesa, AZ
How and when did you become a Cardinals fan? – My dad was friends with Danny White so when we were little we were Cowboy fans (27 now). One day when I was about 9 I said “hey we live in AZ so we should be Cardinal fans”. My entire family has slowly switch loyalties and for the past 5 years we have been a Cardinal family (including my Dad who took the longest to convert).
Who is your favorite Cardinals player? – Adrian Wilson no doubt about it. I am big on loyalty and honesty. He has been a stand up guy here and extremely loyal to the Cardinals. I applaud him for that. It doesnt hurt that I love his nasty mentality on the field.
Something interesting about yourself: – Lived outside of the country (Guatemala) for two years.
Never do card tricks for the group you play poker with.
I take criminal justice classes at ITT Tempe
Live and grew up in Mesa AZ.
Being here basically, I grew up watching them since they were the home team.
Warner, who is also my favorite player in the NFL period.
I’m a video game addict.
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
Yeah I should've added that
I have an XBOX 360 and Wii.

i live just outside london and have for my entire life
i played madden for the first time a couple of years ago, randomly ended up playing with the cardinals and it all kind of snowballed from there. id never really closely followed a sports team and the cards became just that – the superbowl run was incredible
favourite players are adrian wilson and beanie wells
im also a huge rugby fan and support the all blacks…

1> Ex-navy, now with Home Depot
2> Across from U of Phx, I can look out my back yard and see big red himself everyday
3> Grew up in AZ since I was a kid. I spent more time reading the AZ Republic sports section to find out about our team thanks to all those fabulous “Black Outs”.
4> Larry Fitz. Couldn’t be a more classy guy in the NFL. Oh, did I mention he’s a freak.
5> I have a coulpe awsome cards from the security staff at U of Phx. Reads:
FANS CODE OF CONDUCT WARNING CARD
THE ARIZONA CARDNIALS FAN CODE OF CONDUCT WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. SINCE A VIOLATION OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT WAS WITNESSED AND/ OR REPORTED TO STADIUM STAFF, YOU HAVE BEEN ISSUED THIS WARNING CARD AS A REMINDER OF OUR POLICIES.
ANOTHER VIOLATION AT TODAY’S GAME WILL RESULT IN EJECTION FROM THE STADIUM. REPEATED VIOLATIONS COULD LEAD TO REVOCTION OF SEASON TICKET PRIVLEGES WITHOUT REFUND.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND OBSERVANCE OF THE FAN CODE OF CONDUCT.
I recieved em cause I dont appreciate away fans telling me my team sucks. Lets go big red!

I didn't get one of those cards but...
I flew out for the Cardinals Steelers game in 2007 and my brother and I were standing in the 4th Quarter, the Steelers fans asked us to sit down, we said no, and they called security on us, who told us we had to sit down during the game.
We all bleed Cardinal Red, but most of us don't recognize it!
Don't people stand up during the game a lot?
Crybaby Steelers fans, at least they got to see Big Ben throwing the pick without any obstructions.

Hey now
I work for Enterprise as an area car sales manager in Allentown, PA for the last 7 years.
I live in Allentown, PA, but lived in Mesa as a younger man.
I was 8 and living in Mesa when the Cards came to town. I was just figuring out what football was and the Cards happened to be the home team. I’ve been bleeding Cardinal Red ever since.
All time favorite Cardinal is Eric Swann, currently my favorites are Fitzy and A-Dubb.
I’m kind of boring, but I’m the 5th of 8 kids, and my oldest brother played for Mt View and was playing in the state championship game in 1992 against Mesa High when they got in a brawl with a minute left to go at Sun Devil Stadium.
And I think this was a great idea!

Born and raised in tempe.
Been a cards fan since day one. Parents were huge sun devil football fans and were thrilled when we got a team.
Favorite player is Beanie. No lie i have a mancrush on him.
Something Interesting is I was in the second row at the Super Bowl in Tampa and something you may not know is that they starting passing out super bowl champ hats and shirts after fitz scored, when the steelers started to drive they took them back. Still cant watch that game to see if I made it on tv.
Crazy. Im guessing they gave out all that gear to some country that has never heard of the NFL
That’s usually what they do. And I agree, I can’t watch that Super Bowl without getting pissed off.

Born in LA but raised in Sedona, AZ. Currently live in Santa Barbara, CA. Recent college grad, just started working for an Apple.
I became a Cards fan with the drafting of Fitz and I became a die hard with the firing of Denny Green and the hiring of Whiz. Met Emmit Smith in person when I was 16, had a conversation with him and he was very nice (also his wife was gorgeous). I was surprised at how small he was considering his legendary career. A-Dub is my favorite athlete by far with DD and Fitz in close contention.
I also coached JV football for four years as the head coach. It was a ton of fun but a huge challenge working with a very undersized and usually out maned team.

What do you do(job)?: Last year of high school!! and 16 going on 17.
Where do you live?: Born in New York City, moved to Richmond, Virginia when i was 8.
How and when did you become a Cardinals fan?: When i moved to VA i start playing football and our team name was Reams Rams so the ST.Louis Rams was the only team i watched. So Kurt is what made me become a fan of the Cards after 2006.
Who is your favorite Cardinals player? Kurt was my favorite player. Now DRC is my favorite Cardinals player.
Something interesting about yourself: Im interested in everything, I play MMORPGs, Photoshop, Computer Programming(Currently Learning), Plays the Xbox(Currently Red Ringed), and I Love almost all girls!!!!!
Cardinal fan almost 40 years
I am currently in between jobs but umpire and give baseball/ football lessons to survive.
Life long NYer, but my parents were from St. Louis.
Fan since Terry Metcalfe, Jim Hart and Mel Gray ( R.I.P. Don Coryell) The Cardiac Cards . When they were in the NFC East it was such a physically brutal conference but at least I saw them twice a year against the Giants and at least once per on national TV.
Favorite – Kurt Warner stands for so much he amazes me, I think he’s passed the torch to Fitz. Growing up it was Metcalfe then Roy Green.
Interesting – In 1981 + 1982 I drop kicked a few extra points for my college JV team.
I could never kick the football through the uprights no matter how hard I tried.

Revenge of the Birds
Drop kicking was fun, the coach was 78 years old (young)
He saw me fooling around in practice with it and it must have brought back memories. He blew the whistle, stopped practice on the spot, and went over kicking PATs and then put it in the next game when we got a late TD. The other team barely rushed me thinking it was a shot-gun formation. When I informed the ref about drop kicking the point he didn’t believe me.

3) Been a Cards fan since I moved here in 90. One of the few that sat in the scorching hot benches in Sun Devil Stadium for years. Lived through some really bad years with the Cards, but it’s all good now!
4) Favorite player has been Boldin since his rookie year, but I would have to say double D and probably will be Beanie since I have him on my fantasy team this year!

Thomas Christensen, Aalborg, Denmark
This september I’ll start studying psychology at the University of Aalborg. I guess you’ve never heard of that and that’s probably because it’s in Denmark – a small country in the Northern Europe where I’ve lived all of my 20 years. Also English isn’t my first language so if I write something head-scratching that would be my excuse :-)
One of my high school friends talked me into the Cardinals – being a Rams-fan himself. The first match I ever watched was Arizona vs. St. Louis in september 2006. I didn’t understand much at the time but Warner didn’t look hall of fame-ish at all so that might be why I have to stick with Fitz as my favourite player
By the way, we’ve only ever got one Danish player in the NFL, but he holds the scoring record. Can’t wait for the next one! I’ve heard Morten Andersen comment the Super Bowl a few times. He should stick with kicking
We are red, we are white, we are Danish Dynamite!
Your writing has always sounded clear to me. Great to have a member of the site so far away

I am a golf course superintendent (think Bill Murray in Caddyshack)
I live in Cincinnati, been here for about 7 months now
I followed the Cards since they moved to Phoenix, but did not consider myself a fan until the 1998 season. My brother, dad and I bought season tickets that year, and to thank us, the Cards broke their long playoff drought. After that last home game against the Chargers that they won to get into the post season…we were all hooked for life.
Adub is the man, it’s more than just the way he plays, it is his leadership and dedication to the team.
While I have never met any Cardinal players out on the golf course, I once played golf with Dan Quayle…while he was vice president. His parents were friends with my folks in Wickenburg, where I grew up.

Cool to see so many fans outside of Arizona
To answer the questions, let’s see if I can remember what was asked. First, I work at a company called “Busybody Home Fitness,” as a fitness consultant. We’re a specialty fitness store that sells equipment for home use. Great job, especially when times are good. As my screen name implies, I live in Long Beach, CA. I became a Cardinals fan back in 1992 when the Air Force assigned me to Luke AFB. Grew up in Oregon, where the closest thing we had to a pro team was in the USFL so as NFL teams went I started out as a Vikings fan (nearly every relative I have is from there). When I got older, as an act of rebellion I became a Bears fan but those were just adopted teams until I finally moved to a city that had their own. Lived in Washington after I left Arizona but as they say, you never forget your first…
Favorite player, tough call. There’s dozens of players I could list but I’ve got to go with Adrian Wilson. Have to respect someone who could have left for greener pastures but stayed because he wanted to build something where he was at. Complete respect his approach to and the way he plays the game. As a back-up choice I’ll go with Hightower. Something interesting about me is I have two children, ages 12 & 9. Both are big Cardinals fan as well, I think they’d list Fitz and Beanie as their favorites.
My folks live right by Luke
Dad is a retired Full Bird Colonel. Thank you for your service.

Used to manage an AT&T store for 3 years
now I’m at BYU studying Athletic Training and trying to get through a rigorous summer anatomy course (no mormon jokes please I’m drinking a tall boy as I type).
This is the biggest move I’ve ever gone through. Always lived in the West Valley prior to these past three weeks.
Became a Cards fan the year before we signed Warner. I think it started with Madden and always picking the Cardinals than I couldn’t stop going to azcardinals.com everyday. Extremely happy I found this site (kudos to Andrew), I find that the team site is mundane and not kept up on a daily basis to quench my Cardinal thirst.
Favorite Cardinals player, between Adrian Wilson and Gerald Hayes. Loyalty plays a big part in my view of a person so naturally anyone who’s been here through the bad years, both fan and player, gets my utmost respect.
Something interesting? I’ve played the piano since I was four. Used to play in competitions and stuff (when I was 16 I was rated one of the best pianists in the state), started my own piano studio when I was 16 and had 22 students but broke the scaphoid bone in my wrist in October 2008 so can’t really play anymore. The glory days are over I guess you could say. Tore my meniscus when I was 16 as well so legitimate sports is pretty much out of the picture, that’s why I’m trying to become an athletic trainer or sports medicine doctor preferably to keep some kind of connection and help others at the same time.
Me in a nutshell.

4)Would say A-Dub for sure. He has shown he is truly dedicated to us as fans and has earned the same in return. Plus when you are standing in a crowded stadium full of screaming fans and you can hear a guys hit from the other side of the field like it happened right in front of you, well, whats not to love.
5) I will take a short interlude from my normal rotb persona and be serious, if only for a brief moment. You see, its my belief that this site needs some balance, and I have taken it upon myself to balance the pendulum. Yes, a lot of you probably dislike me, and thats ok, because frankly I will never ever know you in real life. For those of you who aren’t wearing panties and realize im just having fun and busting balls (because well when me and my buddies are hanging out thats what we do. at least when we aren’t discussing the greater questions of the universe) I hope you enjoy our banter and I might even bring some poignant objectivity to the table. I like to have fun and thats all anything that I say on here is about.
In real life I am a dedicated husband and father riding the asian train to funky town. Now back to our regularly sceduled program.
p.s. if anyone is in to wife swapping we might be down, message pics to bondageboy@gmail.com
EPIC post matty
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

It's all about ME!
1) Just graduated from THE U with a degree in music therapy and music education, if anyone is hiring, let me know!
2) Miami, FL, but I’m Alaska Grown
3) Went to Phoenix during the Suns vs. Bulls championship series and have been a Arizona sports fan ever since.
4) Of all time it’s a tie between Kurt Warner and Aeneas Williams, and of current players, it was Boldin, but I’d have to go two way tie between Fitz and Calais Campbell.
5) I’m an Arizona Cardinals fan!!! Oh wait…that’s usually an interesting fact. Besides being from Alaska, the first car I learned to drive in was an ’82 Corvette.
pretty nice ride for a first

I work at a beach resort
Myrtle Beach SC, grew up in Glendale
I think 2 years before the Cards moved to Phx, I was watching a game on tv, The St Louis Cardinals had to win to keep the Cowboys out of the playoff as I recall. I don’t remember how the game ended but I liked these guys, Lomax, Green, Smith, Mitchell I think these guys have a chance to be good. I suffered through the Colts and Chargers, using The Valley and attended many, Wranglers/Outlaws games at Sun Devil Stadium. I officially became a Cardinals fan in 1988 the day they announced it was official, I remember riding my bike to Smitty’s to buy a t shirt, the first day they were available. it was a sad day when that shirt finally got retired.
Who is your favorite Cardinals player? Campbell, Hightower, Wilson (all time, Warner & Tillman, I loved Pat back to the ASU days) probably put Jake the Snake on the list)
I am a Cubs fan and a Cardinals fan so never felt the ecstasy of winning it all I am also a huge Bruce Springsteen fan. I am no longer married, and don’t have children so Feb 2, 2009 was perhaps the biggest day of my life.
13- Warner, 23- Sandberg, 40- Tillman, 11- Walter
Not much to tell that hasn't already been told.
What do you do(job)? I’m an Asst. Manager working for the Mouse.
Where do you live? Orlando
How and when did you become a Cardinals fan? Big Aeneas fan and tailored my play after his in high school.
Who is your favorite Cardinals player? Anyone on the field. It’s hard to choose. I am so diehard, I can find a reason to root for anyone on the team. But for as much as I rag on him, Q will prob be my all time favorite.
Something interesting about yourself: I ride around with my Cardinal flags on my car year round and catch so much flack. There are no other Cards fans in this area that I can find. I’m completely out numbered and I could care less.
Go Cards!!!
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.
You should just move to AZ and get it over HEV...
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt or a Hurricane?
Hold on, hold on, what if the Hurricanes name was Whisenhunt?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!
RIGHT!!!

You wouldn't believe all the Flags and Cardinals stickers I see on cars here. It's crazy.

Something interesting, hmm, I had a surgery in 2001 that very few other people have had and the operation was featured on the Discovery Channel.
When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again. True story.

Love the vino coming out of Willamette Valley. The pinot noir section of my cellar is predominantly from Willamette Valley and rrv.
Me overgrown Leprechaun!
Work in IT for an Irish food company.
From the southeast of the Emerald Isle and currently living in the County of Kilkenny.
I lived in Phoenix from 92 to 01 mostly in Tempe, always loved football so bought season tickets to sit on the wonderful benches of Sun Devil Stadium. Man it was fun being a Cards fan back then getting out-numbered by the opposing teams fans when Packers, Bears or Cowgirls came to town. But it makes it all the sweeter to see how things have changed since the move to Glendale both on the field and in the stands.
Current player Nine-O you gotta love his hustle. Former player Larry Centers – I used to be hoarse from shoutin “Go Larry Go” as he converted yet another 3rd Down!
My other sporting passion is soccer or more importantly Liverpool FC – like the Cards they wear red and have great fans. My love of soccer helped me out of a sticky situation a few years ago when I was mugged at knife-point while on vacation in Brazil. As I fumbled looking for my wallet I noticed the guy had a soccer team logo tattoo, I had been to see that team play the day before so I just started naming out a few of their players and saying how good I thought the team was, just trying to buy some time. Next thing I know he just ran away. I guess he just didn’t want to rob a fellow fan!
Anyway that’s all from me just remember that Guinness is good for you and Go Cards!
I love Guinness
And I hope to visit Ireland someday. When I do I’ll look you up and we’ll drink a pint together and talk Cardinals football!
We all bleed Cardinal Red, but most of us don't recognize it!
Most of it
There are some good ones though. Yuengling Lager, Alaskan Amber, Schlaffley’s are all good beers.
We all bleed Cardinal Red, but most of us don't recognize it!
Fan Since Jake Plummer and Rob Moore
I’m a fraud analyst for Chase Bank
I live in Ahwatukee
Cardinals fan since 98 because I chose my dads team and he lived here before they even moved, I remember he had a sticker in his jeep that said “Phoenix Cardinals”
DRC is my favorite he’s a good player on top of a highlight reel? But I respect ADubb, his loyalty is something to be recognized league wide.
I watch every game with a girlfriend by my side who will be present for all 16games but manage to not show a thread of interest for the full 60 mins, not even against Green Bay.:

Yo
What do you do(job)? No job, will be attending the Art Institute of PHX for Culinary in the Fall.
Where do you live? Glendale, AZ aka Game Day Battle Grounds. lol
How and when did you become a Cardinals fan? I was raised a Ram fan from my dad coming from L.A., so I came up with the Greatest Show On Turf, but since I lived in AZ I always rooted for the Cards when they played. Once Warner became a Card in ‘05 I became a die hard Red Bird fan.
Who is your favorite Cardinals player? Warner is my favorite player period, but active player would be Dockett, Fitz (he’s more of Warner’s protege’ than Leinart, just sayin lol) and A-Dub. I remain a huge Q fan as well.
Something interesting about yourself: I have a strange obsession with Louisiana, I don’t why. And I like to party, a lot. lol
Yo
What do you do(job)? I work at an exxon and I have been working on various game designs to escape the retail world.
Where do you live? Dallas, TX wink wink
How and when did you become a Cardinals fan? Well, funny enough, I am from Dallas and I was a cowboys fan back in the nineties when I was a kid. As I grew older, I found out what kind of person Jerry Jones is, so I stopped rooting for them. When I was 19 I moved to Phoenix and about 3 years later after Denny Green took over I started watching. It was when Matt Leinart got drafted that I really started to root.
Who is your favorite Cardinals player? Toss up between Fitzgerald, Wells and Dockett.
Something interesting about yourself: Um, I am in the process of trying to make myself rich?
A man from Dallas who bleeds red, not silver and blue.
