Revenge Of The Birds Community Interview: Cardinals TE Jim Dray
The Arizona Cardinals entered the 2010 NFL draft in need of a tight end, and although it took seven long rounds, they found their man in Stanford product Jim Dray.
Dray was considered one of the better blocking tight ends in the 2010 draft class but also showcased dependable hands during his collegiate career. Last season he caught 11 receptions for 149 yards (13.5-yards per catch) and three touchdowns. In 2007 Dray tore his ACL, MCL, LCL, meniscus, and ruptured his hamstring, ending that season. He did return and played the next two seasons.
I will be interviewing Dray soon and I wanted to try something different. Rather then hogging all of the questions for myself, this time I want to get some good questions from you - the Revenge of the Birds community. So leave your questions in the comment section and I'll choose the best ones to ask him. If you want to recommend some of them(actions>rec), that will help in my decision-making process.
What questions do you have for Arizona Cardinals' tight end Jim Dray?

Was it difficult going to a top notch school and playing football?

What do you think the biggest obstacle is going to be for you to make it in the NFL?
We all bleed Cardinal Red, but most of us don't recognize it!
Who do you see as the most competition within your TE unit and what are you going to do to unseat them??
Hopefully we can get some insight from the players perspective on who is the #1 this season.
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt or a Hurricane?
Hold on, hold on, what if the Hurricanes name was Whisenhunt?

My question is kinda long but i want to know his mindset and what kind of person he is..
Recovering from a serious injury like yours is difficult at ay level that being said do you believe that experiencing it and overcoming it has prepared you in any way for the NFL and the transition to it. Is there anything that was said to you, that you thought, or experienced during that time that helped you then and may help you now?

what made you decide to play football in high school and in college?
Haiku are simple,
But they often don't make sense,
Refrigerator.
Who did you grow up rooting for in New Jersey?
After school in the Bay Area and breathing in the 49ers poisonous air (they call it “fog”, but we know better), what was your immediate reaction to getting drafted by the Cardinals other than an added “s” at the end of the team mascot name?
Don't waste time or Time will waste you.
With Leinart, do you think the TE's are going to catch more passes than they did with how Warner played the game?
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
How do you think the role of a Cardinal TE has changed with Warner handing the reigns over to Leinart?
A little tweek but I like the direction Joe

Was it your blocking that helped Toby Gerhart break onto the scene last season? ;)
Or maybe –
‘Do you gain more confidence in your ability to transition to the NFL following the impressive season you helped orchestrate for the Cardinal running game – specifically for Toby Gerhart – last season in the PAC-10?’
I’m hoping for an afirmative! As likely are Mr. Wells, Mr. Hightower and Mr. Howling!
Watched him sparingly. Don’t recall much. Interesting story from the University over the season was Gerhart. Acquiring a guy who helped set up his production can’t be all that bad…
Having gone through the process yourself, how long was it before you really felt like you were back to game-strength normal?
I wonder because we have two guys, Spach and Highsmith, who suffered less-extensive versions of the same thing and still just don’t look like they did before the injury. Did you (Dray) find yourself hesitating on the field for a while?
Obviously don’t take it verbatim, Andrew. I wasn’t aware Dray had his leg reduced to a limp noodle.
I gotta say that I think it’d be best for Schofield to go on IR this year. Much as I’d like to see him in action, if he looks like Spach or Highsmith have after coming back from knee injury, I think we’ll all be disappointed…
Agree. Looks like he'll start on the PUP list for now.
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.
