PrintAfter Anquan Boldin was dealt to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason, the Arizona Cardinals long-time strength on the roster suddenly became a weakness - the team needed to draft a wide receiver. When receiver Andre Roberts became available in the 3rd round, the Cardinals jumped at the chance to draft Citadel bulldog.
Roberts' greatest attributes entering the draft were his clutch hands and punt return abilities. He caught 77 passes for 792-yards with seven touchdowns, and also averaged 17.3-yards per punt return his final two years in college. Now he'll be entering the 2010 season as the favorite to start behind Early Doucet and return punts full-time for the Cardinals.
I've earned the chance to interview the Cardinals recently signed draft pick and I wanted to take the same approach I did with the Jim Dray interview. HOw different is the NFL speed vs college speed?

With more and more ‘marquee’ players declining invitations to these type of post season bowls, it gives opportunities to more small school players to ‘run with the big dogs’. How did this affect him ? How was the experience ? Was there a big difference in play quality, size, speed ? How much did his performance help him ?
