Cardinals D is better FOR SURE.
IMPROVED! D. NEW SHAPED OFFENSE
THE D is improved i think. I didn't like mcfadden to many blown covers and doesn't have the speed to make up for it. pitts burg can keep him, toler will take that spot and do it well. rhodes is a better defender then rolle. rolle is better when it comes to running after a interception other then that the giants can over pay him. Dansby is good not great. Washington will put pounds on and fill that spot beautifully. Dan Williams is a full grown monster and can only improve! As far as those concerns... A-DUB, DRC, DARNELL, CALAIS, PORTER nothing says D more then those guys!
THE O is a little decline NOT much. The main decline is of course Matt, but give the man a chance to be a leader and see what lies ahead. Number 81.... Man that hurts! the soul of our offense. You know it hurts, I know it hurts. But wait theres hope!? EARLY will be the new Boldin I can just see it. He is a beast! Did you watch the green bay game? YA. And of course our man FITZ baby. Breaston mister underrated for sure. OH did i forget the guy with the nastiest stiff arm in the league BEANIE WELLS! Grab his ankles or his getting a touchdown with a side of embarrassment for your fans! HIGHTOWER is not even close to what beanie is! That's a good thing brothers. Tim is great on the catch and will invade, slip past while wells just going to knock your head off. At the least 9 wins, more depending on number 7!! JUST WATCH MY BEAUTIFUL CARDINAL FANS JUST WATCH!

I like you optimism
But you’re being a bit unrealistic regarding the defense. The offense is our high point that’s for sure, we’re finally going to be a more balanced offense this year, but that can only happen if the defense isn’t giving up a lot of points, otherwise Matt is going to be passing all game just so we can catch up, and Matt is not the type of quarterback that can pass on every down. I’m really hoping that our Linebackers can step up this year, they’re the key to our 3-4 defense.
I'm not sure where he's being unrealistic
about our “D”. From what little we saw in the Saints game, Toler is much more comfortable in man coverage than McFadden, and he’s right about the upgrades we’ll have at OLB (granted, he didn’t use those words but mentioning the addition of Porter implies it). I think most of us are expecting a positive contribution from both Williams and Washington this year.
I too, expect our “D” to improve even with the departure of Dansby and Rolle. It’s our second season running the 3-4, which will help dramatically, and it really looks like 9-0 is ready to take his game to an elite level. Granted, there are a lot of conditions I’ve listed but I don’t think any of them are unrealistic. It’s almost unrealistic to think that key parts of the major components to the 3-4 (NT and OLB) could get any worse than last season.
Hopefully Toler will wind up being another guy that can be left on an island like DRC is.
It really helps the Defense out, especially with all of the creative blitzes Davis can send at the other team,
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
@ CanadianCard- I don't think we ever formally welcomed you to the site. Welcome to RotB.
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.
matt can be a pass only guy if u look back on his career he has had a 400 yard game
Last year in preseason against green bay he was all pass and we almost one that. His 400 yard game came against the vikes I believe and has a 200 ypg avg so don’t think he can’t throw it

I'm glad McMuffin is gone.
If Toler lives up to his potential and the D-line of Williams, CC, and DD is as strong as they should be, the weak link that is our inside LB corps won’t as much of a liability. Hopefully Brown and Davis will be able to come off the bench and provide some high motor pass rush to spell the older guys. I feel pretty confident that our D won’t be as terrible as a lot of people seemt o think they will be…
We all bleed Cardinal Red, but most of us don't recognize it!

Greg Toler
Anyone know why Greg Toler slipped to the 4th round? If he turns out to be as good as everyone thinks/says, it’s a wonder why he would be overlooked by so many teams.
Answered my own question with this article....

Not sure if anyone has read it yet, but it’s very interesting. I was unaware Toler was 24 in his rookie year last year and that he ran the 40 in 4.35; very impressive. Good story and he was a projected sleeper going into last years draft. If all these later round picks keep producing the way they have the Cards will be a great team for years to come.
great link. i love how they compare him to drc now they will start oppisite of one another

I saw it awhile ago
but it’s a good read. Kudos to our scouting staff for taking the time to evaluate him.
