ILB'er Woes

JUST SOME OPTIONS. WHAT IF WE WERE TO GO BACK TO A 4-3 DEFENSE. WE COULD MOVE DOCKET INSIDE, HAVE BAGGS OR BROWN PLAY WITH THEIR HAND ON THE GROUND AND HAVE LENON AT MLB UNTIL HAYES IS HEALTHY. OR WE COULD LEAVE DOCKETT ON THE OUTSIDE AND HAVE WILLIAMS, WATSON, BRANCH AND B-ROB MAN THE DT SPOTS. I UNDERSTAND THAT OUR ROSTER IS BEING TAILORED FOR A 3-4 D, BUT DONTDON'T WE WANT THE BEST PLAYER PLAYING. I AM SORRY BUT I DO NOT FEEL THAT MONTY B. IS BETTER THEN GABE WATSON. SWITCHING OR PLAYING MORE 4-3 COULD GET OUR BETTER PLAYERS MORE PT.

ANOTHER THOUGHT, KEEP MORE OLB AND MOVE HAGGANS TO THE INSIDE. A SMART VET LIKE HAGGANS SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE A QUICK TRANSITION TO THE INSIDE, NO?                               THOUGHTS?

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

Stop yelling!

We can hear you just fine without the Caps Lock on.
Anyway, I think we will have a pseudo 4-3, with the strong-side OLB standing at the line.
Worked pretty well with Bert Berry and Chike, so I figure we’ll do the same with Porter and Haggans

Not happening

they’ve invested too many draft picks and went through the growing pains of the conversion last year to scrap the scheme now. Haggans probably could move inside, if he had to, but I think the plan is to have Lenon play on the strong-side if Hayes has to go on the PUP list. I wouldn’t rule out a guy like Trotter being signed if Hayes will be out for the first six weeks and it’s clear that Washington isn’t ready to take on the starting role.

Like everyone else, I’m not feeling too good about our ILB situation but I think we’re engaging in a little panic fire right now. Let’s see how training camp goes before getting too worked up.

Going

backwards will not happen. They will show some 4 or 5 man front looks but will not return to a pure 4-3 defense. If Dan Williams performs as he should at NT with Dockett and Campbell it would take pressure off of the LBs having to make so many big plays. Hayes should not be gone long. All of the guys at ILB and OLB will do perfectly fine. I think everything looks great to me on the defense.

This is still going to be a 3-4 defense that has some 4-3 elements

Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
