Whew! That Was a Close One For the Cardinals
You, I, or anyone with a conscience feel bad when we do something that gets somebody hurt—dropping something on someone’s foot, inadvertently knocking someone over, etc. Imagine if it happened on the job, where you did it to one of the most important employees. I’d feel very guilty.
That’s got to be something like the way that Hamza Abdullah (who) feels after this afternoon. During an 11-on-11 drill, Abdullah, a special teams player and reserve defensive back, drilled running back Beanie Wells.
Wells, as most Cardinals fans know, is probably the team’s most important offensive player behind Larry Fitzgerald. A serious injury to him would greatly hamper the team’s chances of a third consecutive division title.
Abdullah obviously knows this, and feels terrible. This is what he said about the collision:
"I just tried to be in good tackling position and at the last minute, I guess instincts took over. I didn’t get out of the way. He probably just wasn’t ready for the hit, and I didn’t go into it … my intentions weren’t to hit him and definitely not to hurt him. Prayers go to him and hopefully he is OK.
"Right now, I am just focused on Beanie and praying he is OK because that is not what I am out here to do, hurt anyone, especially one of my teammates. I want to practice the right way. Coach Whiz does a great job taking care of us."
Abdullah sounded like a man fearing a bit for his job. I would be, too. Coach Ken Whisenhunt did a good job to publicly dispel those worries, saying that Abdullah was just "doing his job" and that Wells was running too high.
Luckily, the CT scan they had performed on Wells was negative. He is listed as day-to-day.
This is good news for the Cardinals, as the uncertainty at the quarterback position has fans hoping for a big year from him.
I for one am hoping to text my buddy many times every game during the regular season (and hopefully in the playoffs), "BEANIE!!!" (In case you were wondering, it is for every long run or good play he makes—he is my favorite player on the Cardinals).
It just sounds much cooler that "TIMMY!!!" or "HIGHTOWER!!!"

you know...
that actually sounds really cool! He would like that!
It's a view from my La-Z-Boy (sometimes from the bleachers, but mostly from the La-Z-Boy), but it's still a view.

Timmy!
Ever since his rookie year when he seemed to always get into the end zone my friends and i would get up and sing:
T.H.T.
He’s Dynamite
T.H.T.
And he’ll win the fight
T.H.T.
He’s a power-load
T.H.T.
Watch him Explode!!!

We probably should
but first they knock a can of tobacco spit in Boogatt’s mouth when he’s trying to sleep, then they post a song like that? I think there’s plenty of shame to go around here…

If Beanie wen't down it would change the entire dynamic of the offense
With Beanie the offense looks to be balanced. The thought that the Cardinals will become flightless birds is an incorrect one. The Cardinals will simply become a methodical bird of pray. Taking plenty of shots down field as well as running around as well at through opponents.
Remember no matter where you go in life...there you are!
