Around SBN: Why Hockey Fans Should Root For Devils Vs. Kings

Yeah, he was good tonight. But one game against 4th stringers doesn't mean he should become the starter!

I know it's against the third string but..

His accuracy look better than DA’s tonite. Anderson threw two deep balls and over threw both and the picks, while off tips were not well thrown and in one case into way too much coverage IMO. Matt looked pretty good given the pressure but I don’t remember anything deep from him which is what I would like to see.

Agreed, Skelton looked more accurate than I heard he has been in Training Camp.

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.

facebook ?? you're talking facebook ??

does anyone actually go/read anything there?

Skelton – I don’t care if he was up against waterboys… he has Anderson beat, hands down, but no, he is not a starter (not this year)… leinart looked fine and IF they fix the o-line he will be fine… with Skelton as his backup … DA did not even get up to bad and managed to drag roberts down with him… if I was Roberts I’d strangle D

Just using that as an example since I saw it on the Cardinals fan page.

Some people on azcentral [including our buddy HardHat] want Skelton to start now as well.

Bleacher Report

Hey Joe,

What do you think the Bleacher Report will have to say now???

Like reading the Nat’l Enq. for football; you reach for it on impulse and feel disgusted with yourself afterwards.

Next week is altogether different

Let’s remember this, next week they are in Tennessee. It’s going to be the opposite environment, there’s going to be no fan support. I’m excited about Skelton but disappointed we didn’t see Hall last night. I think it’s pushing it putting Skelton #2 for the first time in the first away game, let him be the third string hero one more time. Boost his confidence and experience first, then move him up.

Urb said it best

“John Skelton did look good, obviously, with a perfect passing rating and two touchdown drives. He played better tonight than he has looked in practice, quite frankly. But remember this: he was going against the back end of the Texans’ roster. Did he show his potential? Heck yes. Anyone calling for him right now to start over Leinart or Anderson, however, is just being silly and frankly loses all credibility just by suggesting such a thing.”

I was talking to him about it on Twitter too and he said the same thing.
