Impressions from the game

Watching at the game I may not have had the benefit of great replay and close up shots so many comment I've read, I didn't see. Specifically Dan Williams play being lauded by many. He may have done well, I just had an overall impression of subpar play from the line and OLBs.

Who did impress:

ILBs

Obviously, Daryl Washington. He has a nose for the ball and outstanding speed. The best pressure on the Texans QBs seem to come from ILB spot.

I liked what I saw from Paris Lenon. He looked aggressive in pluging holes and I was encouraged with his play.

DBs

Toler looked confident and did pretty well. Calvin looked great returning punts. Marshay Green looked good both on special teams and in coverage I thought.

RB

Alfonso Smith. He wasn't even on my radar going into the game. I know it was late when he played against their 4th striners etc. but he had an unexpected burst of speed that I liked.

TE

Jim Dray looked good in limited playing time. Big target with nice hands. I hope I see more this preseason.

WR

Stephen Williams, I know obvious choice, but when he got his helmet knocked off and hung onto the ball, jumped right up and celebrated, it was a Jerry Meguire moment for me.

Who didn't impress:

QB

DA was inaccurate. He over threw, threw behind, and generally missed targets most of the night. His picks came from one bad decision, throwing into coverage and one bad throw, behind his receiver tipped to Texan player. Lucky they dropped the third one.

OLB

I thought this would be a strength for us, and it may yet be, but last night I didn't see a lot, although I think Cody Brown was credited with forcing the fumble that Washington recovered.

CB

Might not be fair but A J Jefferson looked terrible to me. Seemed like he was out of position play after play.

WR

Andre Roberts. I know he had a lot of bad balls thrown his way but big time receivers find a way to haul those in.

That's it. Let me know if I'm mistaken or what I missed.
