Quick notes from Cardinals Training Camp, 8-18-10
Not much to report after tonight's night practice now that the time in Flagstaff is starting too wind down. The crowds weren't that big either.
The biggest story is the release of Safety Aaron Rouse after his car accident so the team could sign Wide Receiver Mike Jones. Jones is a 6'4" Receiver who came out of ASU in 2009. He was a UDFA who was picked up by Houston last season, and he has also spent time on the practice squad with the Seahawks. I'm not sure how long he will be around, but it is nice having someone who went to college here on the team at least for a little while.
As for the practice, the Defense had the edge tonight.
There were a couple of sacks on the night [I saw one on 12 News of Dockett sacking Leinart, then Leinart pushed him away a little bit], and Anderson also threw a pick in the Endzone to Marshay Green.
I'm not sure how many touchdowns there were, but I know that Hall threw a 15 yard touchdown to Dominique Byrd, and Leinart threw one to Becht or one of the other Tight Ends on the Goalline drills. Hightower also ran in a 5 yard TD in the Goalline drill.
Ben Graham hit a garbage can during the Punters version of the garbage can drill the QBs do.
Pago and Lenon were working with the first team.
Max Komar played well with the second unit.
Coach Whiz was also being very vocal towards the offense. It sounds like he wants them to get it together after all the mistakes on Saturday. He was also mad at Skelton after he botched two handoffs during one drive.
As for some of the injuries, Reggie Walker is back from his, but Will Davis sat out so he could calm down some soreness in his right knee.

No, I just saw it on the Twitter feed for someone that was at the practice.
I think I’ve seen a video of it on the news during their coverage of camp though.

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
Found some draft notes on Michael Jones

And here is one from the same site about Stephen Williams.

They both sound like similar players. People with good speed for their height, and good leaping ability.

enjoyed watching Jones play while I was at ASU
hope he has a good NFL career even though I doubt he’ll be with us for very long..

I want Reggie Walker to come back
So we can figure out if he’s fit to be the starter. Togafau’s on a little bit of a roll right now, which came out of nowhere but I’m not really sure I want him to be starting regardless of whether he knows a little bit more about the system than Washington or not.
If Komar can keep it up, he might push Ojo for a spot (assuming Ojo and Williams both have one right now). As a guy who was getting zero attention before game one, he might have a shot at getting signed somewhere else, too. Momentum will have a lot to do with our final roster.
Washington?
Togafau is playing the Mike position. Lenon and Daryl Washington are in the Will spot . Mark Washington’s an OLB. Togafau is filling in for Gerald Hayes.
It gets confusing with two Washington's
but the paragraph was all about ILB’s, so I didn’t feel like specifying Daryl.
Unless you mean to say you don’t see D. Washington and Lenon starting together? Is the confusion coming from me not differentiating between Mike & Will? What I’m really wanting to see if he’s fit to start over Beisel and Togafau? I was just going off of ‘best players on the field.’
Graham is the friggin shit
Lucky to have him on the team and hope he makes it to the pro bowl this year. Green is getting mentioned alot and played pretty good saturday, seems to be involved in quite a few plays. Only inevitable that a guy like him is going to get a few picks
On special teams coverage Green looked like he had a whole 'nother gear
He really can move. I hope we find a spot for him because I think he could be a pretty special DB in the future.
