We all know that the Leinart thing is the only story out there right now, so lets just get this over with. Also, I have a video of Leinart from the Packers Preseason game last year at the bottom of this article, just because I'm hoping he does something like that on Saturday.
Leinart talks about not starting
Quarterback Matt Leinart just talked about getting demoted behind Derek Anderson. Not surprisingly, he isn’t happy, but he said he still planning on starting the regular-season opener:
Anderson to start at QB in Chicago
For a game at least, Derek Anderson is the starting quarterback for the Cardinals. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said that today after practice, although he emphasized this is simply flipping the script from last week – when Anderson played with the first unit after Matt Leinart came out of the game.
It'll be tough for Matt Leinart to recover - NFC West Blog - ESPN
It's not an ideal situation, but this is what happens when a team doesn't have an established quarterback. There's no sense in trying to fool players in the locker room. Arizona has too many veterans for that. Whisenhunt will give Anderson an extended look, see how he plays, see how Leinart reacts, see how the team reacts and then make his decision for the regular season.
Report: Cardinals have not discussed dumping Matt Leinart | ProFootballTalk.com
Matt Leinart may be getting a reputation for playing it too safe, and at least one national analyst thinks that may force the Cardinals to cut the cord with Leinart. Before the season.

Derek Anderson Will Start For Cards Against Chicago - SB Nation Arizona
Derek Anderson will start for the Arizona Cardinals when they face off against the Chicago Bears on Saturday. Coach Ken Whisenhunt insists the move does not signal anything permanent.
History lesson with Whisenhunt, QBs - NFC West Blog - ESPN
News that Derek Anderson would replace Matt Leinart as the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback for the third exhibition game stands as a significant blow to Leinart. It also shows coach Ken Whisenhunt doesn't offer much special treatment for quarterbacks. He's not afraid to make changes at the position.
Four Downs: NFC West preseason Week 3 - NFC West Blog - ESPN
Derek Anderson gets the start, and that means both he and Matt Leinart will be under additional scrutiny. Much was made, and rightfully so, about coach Ken Whisenhunt's decision to replace Leinart with Anderson to start this game. But nothing has necessarily changed for good. If Anderson struggles and Leinart finally breaks out, Whisenhunt will look like a master motivator. If Anderson outplays Leinart, hey, Whisenhunt must have known what he was doing all along.

Kurt Warner retired months ago and hasn't thrown a pass all summer. But he's partly responsible for the Cardinals' current uncertainity at quarterback.
NFL.com news: Anderson to start Saturday for Cardinals; Leinart likely staying
Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said he will start Derek Anderson at quarterback in Saturday night's preseason game against the Chicago Bears, but a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that doesn't mean Matt Leinart will be dumped at this point.
Cardinals to start Anderson at QB on Saturday
At this point, Anderson’s stint with the first-team offense is on a trial basis, but it’s hard to believe it won’t come at the expense of Matt Leinart’s confidence. Coach Ken Whisenhunt insists that the motive for the change is simply a reversal of roles to see how each player reacts, but it could be a sign of things to come.
Cards camp report (08.26.10): Team taking advantage of extra practice
While at least a portion of fan base is already in panic mode, coach Ken Whisenhunt isn’t and continues to see progression from his team.

The coach said it was an opportunity to see players in different roles as they also switch up at linebacker, cornerback and on the offensive line to evaluate personnel.
NFL.com Blogs " Blog Archive Analyst take: Leinart isn’t best fit for offense "
The Cardinals need to ask themselves: What are we built to do? Ken Whisenhunt’s offense was never designed to be a small-ball team, and that’s the type of quarterback Leinart is. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not a good fit for that offense and what they’ve been successful doing. The Cardinals want to pound the ball, use play-action, and take some shots down the field.
(They were a small ball team last year Jamie.... And from what I've heard your idea of what the offense is going to be is what Leinart is going to do if he is the starter.)
Scout.com: Cardinals: Receiver Well Running Dry
One of the biggest surprises for the Arizona Cardinals during training camp was the play of their young receivers. Undrafted rookies Stephen Williams and Max Komar have been pushing hard for roster spots and second-year wideout Darren Mougey stood out with his work in Flagstaff. These players and others have had chances to shine with Larry Fitzgerald and Early Doucet likely on the shelf until the start of the regular season.
