Arizona Cardinals at Chicago Bears: Five Things To Watch For
With the game only hours away, we'll take a look at five things to watch for:
- The play of Derek Anderson - The third preseason game is always the most significant since the starters sometimes play into the third quarter. Anderson gets the nod as the starting quarterback and should receive more then enough time to show what he's made of. If he falters, you can expect to see Leinart back at the helms for the final preseason game against the Washington Redskins next week.
- Can Justin Miller secure a spot on the roster as a kick returner? Miller has given LaRod Stephens-Howling and Andre Roberts a run for their money at kick and punt return this preseason, showing a quick burst with the ball. If he can continue to do so, he may just earn a spot on the roster as a return man and a back up cornerback.
- Will the real offensive line please stand up? The Cardinals shuffled their pieces along the offensive line this offseason in hopes to establish a dominant unit. So far they've been bullied and out-muscled in their two respective games. Is this the time where they show what they are made of? If not, then we may see some change starting with Deuce Lutui taking back his starting spot.
- Daryl Washington's rookie play - Washington began the preseason with a bang, but subsided on Monday night with only three tackles. His talent is still immense and he's set to take a starting position soon. Watch out for Washington to make an impact against the Bears new-look offense.
- Look for a receiver to step up - If Larry Fitzgerald doesn't play tonight and Early Doucet still can't go, watch for one of younger guys to step up. Stephen Williams has been impressive so far and Max Komar has the ability to be a good slot receiver. Also watch out for Onrea Jones. He desperately needs to shine in tonight's game in order to lock up a roster spot.
Enjoy tonight's game and as always, GO CARDINALS!!!

I want to see how Leinart handles this entire situation.
Does he put up another Oakland game, or does he throw for 350 yards and 3 TDs like he did against the Packers?
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
I want to see...
How Toler reacts and plays as the starter and how Beanie reacts to not being one of the guys moved from backup to first stringer.
I once tried to quit a job using a dry erase board. Unfortunately I wrote the first part in Sharpie so I couldn't finish.
I want to see...
How Lenon and Washington look playing together. Also looking for good things from Toler.

Lookout below!
The Cards are poised to walk into into a playoff birth again this year with Mat Leinart at the helm. Coach Wiz has handled the lack of repect for his team with grace and humility. I believe he is mearly teaching Anderson a lesson that Leinart has already has learned. The head coach is the boss and be ready to perform at all times or you will ride the pine like Anquan Bolden did for three years after expressing displeasure with his contract and Coach Wiz’s play calling. Next weeks pre-season game will be another informal dress rehearsal for the players to prove to the coach that they have the temperment as well as the ability to make the coaches final cut. It will be as much a popularity contest as it will be a talent show. Coach Wiz wants to know “can we all just get along?” If the answer is yes, the rest of the NFC better be worried about the 2010-2011 Cardinals because they will be looking up at their record trying to vie for a playoff spot. I see very few flaws in the Cardinal’s lineup offense and defense so put your money down in Vegas to win big on the Cardinals success.
Always room for one more.
The falcons are a little heavy in the WR ranks. They have a UFA out of UNLV that would be great as an outlet for Matt Leinart. The Falcons will try to keep him under wraps as a practice team receiver. If the Cardinals are smart they will make a trade for Ryan Wolfe (a So.Cal. guy) who will be a great teammate with glue for hands and a nose for the football. This kid is #12 all time receiver in Division 1 NCAA football and has always played both ways, despite being the star WR. He plays linebacker, defensive back , punt and kick returner, passer and QB as well as running back when the game is on the line. Ryan Wolfe is durable and has always become one of the greatest players at each level of competition despite being overlooked. He is the type of player that can make Matt Leinart look like a Fran Tarkington when he has to scramble out of the pocket when his protection breaks down. Wolfe can be picked up for a song and will pay the Cards back with dividends as a fan favorite. We need a reliable receiver to cover Matts rear end when its third and four or five. Wolfe is that that guy. Take a chance on a sure thing and your fans will call the coaching staff and scouts geniuses for doing the obvious. The falcons haven’t given this guy the time of day but refuse to cut him because they know his potential. Its too late for them to find a place on the roster for him because they are too deep in WRs but the Cards need a player just like him to put Leinart up on top where he will shine like a brand new penny. Warner had a couple of go to guys to bail him out, please make a trade for Ryan Wolfe and watch Leinart grow into his position.
Williams and Komar are looking good
Roberts, the third round pick, is looking like he’ll be 6th on the deep chart at best at this point. Why would the team want to trade for another UFA with the way the guys they have are playing?
