Seven things on my mind
I'll cut to the chase. Nothing elaborate. Just seven thoughts on my mind.
1)Joe, Andrew, and the rest of the experienced, old (Membership wise, not age) ROTB members, what are your thoughts on the QB situation? Do you think Matt Leinart should be made starter? Traded? Cut?
2)If Matt Leinart has a 10 year career with a team like the Seahawks or something, I'm going to scream.
3)Greg Toler is probably going to become the starter across from DRC. Looks like he's shaping up to be the player the Cardinals want him to be.
4)I'm really excited for tomorrow's game. In my opinion, it's the most important one out of all the pre-season games, because I think tomorrow is Matt Leinart's last chance to prove that he's worth keeping, and that he's "The Guy".
5)Is there any expert in the world that is a Cardinals fan? Or at least one that isn't insulting them every second?
6)How come a lot of professional experts are all "huge" fans of the Yankees, Lakers, Saints, and Blackhawks? Does anyone see a pattern here?
7)Do you think Antonio Bryant, who was cut by the Bengals a few days ago, would be worth picking up? Now that I think about it, we're pretty set at WR, but still, just wondering.
Last but not least, a poll.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

My answers...
1. I don’t think DA ever had this type of talent surrounding him. He will have WRs who can make a play on the ball no matter where it is. He should be fine as long as we can establish the run. Easier said than done. And like I’ve been saying, the Cards don’t want to go into a possible lockout next season paying Matt over $13mil. DA is a much cheaper option. Do the Cards honestly see a SB this season. If not why not get ready for the future now. The playoffs would be great, but could we really win it all. I’d love to trade Matt. We’ve had great success with our late round picks. Maybe we could get a FB and a pick or two for him. That’s a safer bet if a team really wants him than us cutting him and said team being out bid.
2. I won’t scream. He just fit into the long term plans of the Cards. Does not mean he isn’t/won’t be a good player in the future.
3. Toler will be the man. Never doubted it, although I was a little surprised he didn’t start earlier. But than again, he probably thought the position was his to lose and Whiz made sure he understood that he would have to earn it. Competition is good for everyone.
4. The 4th game doesn’t showcase the starters more than 1-2 series. If Matt has a really good game, he will just be auditioning for another team. If he doesn’t, then all our worst fears could be validated and he would be unemployed vs traded. I don’t feel bad. He’s made his money, more than I probably ever will.
5. We’re all experts, right. I can certainly answer just about any question about my team. Football has consumed a large portion of my life. Hopefully I can get paid for this passion soon enough.
6. Bandwagon fans are everywhere. Besides how much credibility would an expert have have if he always rooted for a loser.
7. I wouldn’t give him more than the minimum to play for us. He netted $18mil from the Bucs last year and $8mil from the Bengals this year. That’s over $26mil in 12 months just to suck. Would either of those teams want Matt?
Life's too short. Be a fan. Orlando Magic, Arizona Cardinals,Tampa Bay Rays and of course "the U"! What a winning combo.

I’ve already made it clear that I am a Leinart fan, and I want him to be able to succeed in Arizona
2)If Matt Leinart has a 10 year career with a team like the Seahawks or something, I’m going to scream.
Same here
3)Greg Toler is probably going to become the starter across from DRC. Looks like he’s shaping up to be the player the Cardinals want him to be.
Agreed, he looks like he plays similarly to how DRC plays too.
4)I’m really excited for tomorrow’s game. In my opinion, it’s the most important one out of all the pre-season games, because I think tomorrow is Matt Leinart’s last chance to prove that he’s worth keeping, and that he’s “The Guy”.
I hope he can do that. I want to see something like his game against Green Bay last year in the Preseason.
5)Is there any expert in the world that is a Cardinals fan? Or at least one that isn’t insulting them every second?
Tim Hasselbeck?
6)How come a lot of professional experts are all “huge” fans of the Yankees, Lakers, Saints, and Blackhawks? Does anyone see a pattern here?
ESPN = EastCoast Sports Promotion Network. I know that some of those teams are not in the East Coast but it is pretty accurate with ESPN, when they talk Football all they care about is the NFC East. And i would agree with the last post about a lot of these “experts” being bandwagoners.
7)Do you think Antonio Bryant, who was cut by the Bengals a few days ago, would be worth picking up? Now that I think about it, we’re pretty set at WR, but still, just wondering.
No, he is injured right now, and I don’t know if anyone will sign him until he gets healthy to be honest.

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.

1. Hard to say with Leinart I beileve he lost his job on what the second pass of this season when Larry got clobbered…If the best in the league doesnt want to catch passes from that QB..Kind of have to make him happy. I say keep the QB platoon like we had in ’07 if Matty Boi cant handle it then cut him since nobody will take on his contract.
2. Did you mean a multiple pro bowl type of decade long career?
3. Our secondary will soon have the nickname of Lock Down and the “HAMMER”
4. Pre-season seems to always be a bunch of BLAH…but hey Niner Fans love the fact they are 3-0 in this preseason.
5. These experts only pitch what’s popular for “Ratings” personally, I’m glad to finally see us on every headline even if it is fairly negative at least we will have more eyes than ever on us. Instead of a little blip in between how ferocious the jets are or how the cowboys will win it all.
6. Of course…C’mon now how energized were we when the red birds came up a bit short of winning the grandest stage of them all.
7. Nah. With the emergence of Williams I think we are set at WR for a Loooooooooooong time.
Cris Carter mouthing off after the pass to Fitz doesn't help either...

1) You got a cut off date for what makes an old timer? I’m just a spectator to the whole messy business. Just want to watch it unfold. Anderson makes me nervous. Leinart seemed the safer choice. Never been big on Leinart but he did appear to be the best in the nfc west (on account of Hasselbeck being held together with baling wire and duct tape). Leinart wants out if he can’t be the starter.
2) If Leinart is gone I don’t care how well he does elsewhere.
3)DRC and Toler looks like it could turn into magic. So does the Wilson – Rhodes combo. I think our defense is going to surprise a lot of shit talkers who can’t see past Dansby and Rolle cutting out. Especially if Washington has a good year as a starter.
4) I’ll probably get home late and miss yet another game. Can’t wait for sunday football. Leinart won’t have much time to show his stuff. I don’t know that it matters what he does on the field anymore. It may be too late for him.
5a) Kurt Warner.
5b) Your question opens the debate as to what makes an expert.
6) Who cares? Oh, and F*** the NY yankees.
7) We are pretty set at WR. Williams looks sharp. Komar looks sharp. They will be looking at him as a PR against the ‘skins too. I don’t know that there is room for Antonio Bryant on the roster. Maybe if they pick him up for a song. I don’t think there will be any interest from the Cardinals.
+1 to number 2
