Quick note: I'm having problems with my connection right now, and if I can't get it fixed I won't be around for the gamethread.

And Urban just said on the pregame radio show that he doesn't think Beanie will play today.

Cards go back to school — again
The Cardinals had their walk-through at Georgia Tech this morning. That means in the past month the Cardinals have worked at Northern Arizona University, Vanderbilt, Arizona State and Georgia Tech. As VP of media relations Mark Dalton noted, the Cards seem to get to more campuses than ESPN’s College GameDay. (And speaking of college, University of Phoenix Stadium, the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis and Atlanta’s Georgia Dome have all hosted their share of college games recently too, so ….)

Arizona Cardinals looking for leap of improvement vs. Atlanta Falcons
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is only 25, but his fans, and those of the Cardinals, must hope Ryan was wise beyond his years when he said this week that teams tend to play better in the second game of the season.

The Cardinals held their walk-through this morning at Georgia Tech, continuing a tour of college campuses that puts ESPN's GameDay to shame. As VP of media relations Mark Dalton noted this morning, this season the Cardinals have practiced at Northern Arizona, Vanderbilt, Arizona State and now Georgia Tech, coach Ken Whisenhunt's alma mater.

KTAR.com - Cardinals must take on frustrated Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons' quest to reach the playoffs after a one-year hiatus got off to a stumbling start in Pittsburgh last week, as Matt Ryan and company failed to find the end zone in a disconcerting 15-9 overtime loss to the Steelers.

azcentral.com blogs - Kevin Hunt Blog - kevinhunt - Guarded Praise
If I didn't know better I would have thought that every Cardinal player and coach were given a script to follow praising the heart and determination of Derek Anderson. Okay, we get it! Leinart is no leader. Anderson is your man. He did stand up straight in the pocket and take his share of shots. He looked good engineering the game winning drive so I'll give him that. But they're a long way from clinching a playoff spot. I'll need a little more convincing. But Cardinals fans must be salivating over the 49er's opening flop. A Yahoo sports article claims Coach Mike Singletary has lost faith in offensive Coordinator Jimmy Raye. You should check out an interview with Singletary on KPIX TV in San Francisco. It's must see TV. http://sanfrancisco.cbsloca... I've always like Mike Singletary and I hope he survives what's bound to be a roller coaster of a season. I can't wait for the 49er-Cardinals games.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary is one of the NFL's best alpha-dog personalities. He was that way as a Hall of Fame linebacker for the Chicago Bears, and he's that way now. He's also generally good for an awesome soundbite or two, especially after playing the Seattle Seahawks. You'll remember that Singletary kicked tight end Vernon Davis off the field in his October, 2008 debut as the team's head coach, after which he delivered his epic "Cannot play with ‘em ... cannot win with ‘em ... cannot coach with ‘em ... can't do it!" speech to the assembled media.

2nd meeting of Manning brothers has much different feel than 2006 matchup
The first time they played against each other, it was a classic case of the accomplished older brother teaching the wide-eyed kid brother how it's done in the big-boy league. In was 2006, the first game played on NBC's "Sunday Night Football," and Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts got the best of Eli Manning and the New York Giants 26-21.
