Is Our Line Set For Success?
Is our offensive line set for success? That question can be debated. Brandon Keith was moved to RT to protect the blindside of Matt Leinart since he was a left handed quarterback and our projected starter. He is the best of our tackles at moving his feet . Levi Brown was moved to LT because that was his more natural position, playing there in college, and because he would be less of a liability in the pass game. But going up against speedy ends won't fair well for Leonard Davis Levi Brown. He is too slow on the edge. With no more left handed QBs on the roster would we be better served moving Keith and Brown back to the other sides, or will we live and die with this decision? At this point does it really matter?

Keith didn't play LT in college.
And there’s been enough flux on the line as is. Let’s not compound change with more change.
Time for the season to get started, for better or worse.
Levi
has looked worse at his “natural position” so far which does not bode well. crossing fingers he will play better in the regular season, otherwise we will NEED Max Hall to play just to have someone back there that can make plays with his feet….
that said, Bridges better be on the ready…and its best to leave things as they are at the moment, and hope Hightower and the TEs can keep doing their job in protection

It seems to me that when Derek Anderson is playing
The O-line does a lot better than when Matt Leinart is playing. They seem to give him a lot more time to throw the ball, but when Matt Leinart comes up to play, they seem to let in a ton of pressure.
Is this because the team trusts Derek Anderson more?
Leinart is so calm it makes the O-Line want to take a nap
DA’s hyperactiveness and SWAGTANGIBLES wake them up and allows them to actually make an attempt at blocking people.

Poor Toolmans eye.
If this sticks he’s going to be wearing a fork in it all season.

I think
They respected DA’s ability or rather willingness to stretch the field and take shots while with ML they knew with pressure he would automatically dump it off.
I have read to many reports and seen him do it to many times to think otherwise.

If they "knew" that ML would dump it off under pressure
Shouldn’t they have tried harder, to, you know, not put ML under so much pressure so he wouldn’t dump it off?

It doesn’t matter which QB is in. Give it your all on every play.

Anderson got pressured too.
Watch the Titans game again. The Titans defense was all over him while rushing only 4. The Leinart got blitzed isn’t fair shit is growing tiresome. Anderson got the ball out quicker than Leinart, when he did get the ball out. The line played piss poor the first two games for both QBs. They have been improving since then. The only play I’ve seen that looked like someone didn’t even try was when Sendelein just slapped the blitzing defender on the shoulder as he went by during the Redskins game. The announcers didn’t even blame Sendelein. They said the running back blew his assignment. Maybe it was because the announcer was a former O lineman, or maybe because the RB blew his assignment. Personally I wouldn’t mind seeing Hadnot play center instead.
I think a lot of it has to do with what the opposing D-Coord's thought of Leinart...
IMO when Leinart was in the other teams felt they could bring more pressure up front because they didn’t respect his downfield throwing ability.

Whis said all along that moving Levi Brown had nothing to do with the QB.
The O line will be fine. They’ll get better as the season moves along. The improvement from game one to game four of the preseason will continue apace. Only change I might want is to get Hadnot into the starting line up.
How about in place of the TE?
I just think he’s done well and could easily be a starter. He won’t be taking Faneca’s place barring injury. You don’t bring the guy in to be a leader then make him a back up. Don’t really see him taking Duece’s spot either. While I’m not high on Sendelein I think Hadnot is better suited at guard. If Whis wasn’t happy with Sendelein we’d have seen something change there sometime in preseason. Hadnot is the best depth we have on the line. I can see him stepping in to the left guard position next season. He was crushing people downfield when he pulled. I guess I should have been clearer. Hadnot is the only backup I would feel 100% on stepping into a starting position. So if a change was to be made, ie Hadnot over Lutui I would be ok with that.
I think Lutui has looked pretty solid so far.
I have liked Hadnot on the plays where he has pulled. He looks very mobil and if we wanted a heavy set where he lined up at TE that might be awesome.
Bridges is pretty solid back up at tackle. I would not panick if he had to fill in either.

I would not be surprised if Fanaca loses his spot by the end of the season
Hopefully Hadnot can step in an be productive

What exactly has Rex Hadnot done to make him a starter?
I’m not saying he has played bad, but the only significant thing said about him was a reaction to the question of Deuce starting. A compliment by default isn’t saying much. Also, Lyle is considered to have big upside around the league.
Not going on what's been said of him as much as what's been seen.
Also, Faneca is only on a one year contract. Hadnot could be in that spot next year. As a pulling guard he looked brutal out there. Obviously as a center he wouldn’t be doing that much, but I’m not suggesting he end up there. I think he ultimately ends up replacing Faneca.
I’m not a Sendelein fan. Seen him botch too many plays, tripping the QB, poor snaps. He did improve last year. Hopefully he continues to do so.
+1...should have read this before I posted above on Fanaca
Except I that I am comfortable with Sendlein. I think he’ll be fine once he gets some more reps with DA.

there it is !!!
Its so obvious.
Whiz told us months ago that he would cut Leinart. Put Brown on the blind side to protect the future quarterback that he would bring in.
Matt shoulda never gave whisenhunts daughter the business.
