Did you know that undrafted FA QB Max Hall signing bonus was 5k and the 1st overall pick Sam Bradford signing-roster bonus was 50 million?

I don't care how good they are
A rookie shouldn’t be paid $50 million. Maybe after they’ve proved themselves in the league, but if Sam Bradford does bad, the Rams are just going to end up looking like fools.
Whereas, if Max Hall does good, the Cardinals are going to end up looking like geniuses.

I love how he gets 50 million just for signing the contract
And 98% of people won’t make that much during their entire lifetime.

No, I am a socialist
They should “spread” the wealth.
Really though, they need a rookie pay cap so teams that pick high draft picks for a couple of years aren’t saddled with several ridiculous rookie contracts and can actually pursue free agents.

+1
it’s getting ridiculous. $50 million for something they hope he can do? Crazy

The NFL does put excess profit into that fund that goes to players who outperform their salaries
I forget what it’s called, but it’s one thing I really think they did right.
No it should go to guys like Dockett who
Prove themselves over years and become cornerstones to how a franchise operates.

Why would I want the owners to get the money?
I’m saying that paying 50 million to a guy who could be gone after a few years is a pretty crappy investment. You have quarterbacks that are much better than Sam Bradford is right now in his career and they are making far less. I don’t even know how we got to this point.

All this means is instead of taking the offensive line to Hawaii, Max can only afford to buy them each a pineapple
I once tried to quit a job using a dry erase board. Unfortunately I wrote the first part in Sharpie so I couldn't finish.

There should be a rookie salary cap
Earn the big paycheck by playing well. That way we won’t get so many people like JaFatass getting a ton of money even though they can’t play in the NFL worth a damn.
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
hopefully when they hammer out the new CBA
That will be one of the stipulations. Oh and punch and pie

Absurd
No rookie player is worth that much money period. Case and point…JaMarcus Russell.
I can’t wait to see Max eventually take lead of the team…I’m certain he’ll earn a better contract with his play and leadership.

Why is Sam Bradford
a more valuable commodity Than Joe Montana, John Elway or Kurt Warner were. Why is Bradford worth so much more than Stafford or Ryan just because he is a year or two younger. Why is next years No 1 going to be worth so much more than Bradford? If the Cardinals win the division, What makes Bradford worth that much more than Hall.
Imagine how much better the NFL would be if everyone got paid a sliding base salary that goes up based on years of experience with bonus incentives built in for certain statistical accomplishments and a huge roster bonus for anyone who is on the Superbowl champion team (including the situational contributors)
I don’t care that these guys are multi millionaires but I think Drew Brees should be getting paid more than Sam Bradford, When Braford (or anyone else) proves themselves, pay them. I think Matt Leinart, would be a better QB today if he had to go out and earn his money, rather than be handed they keys to the bank before he did anything.
