Ask a Rams fan (aka WHY AM I NOT DOPE?!?!)
What's up, ROTB. I write over at Turf Show Times (and also at Mocking the Draft). Just wanted to give you guys a thread this week to ask any questions about the Rams ahead of our game on Sunday.
The Rams have had a pretty inspiring offseason, considering how much has been invested in Sam Bradford, both literally and otherwise. WIth the recent addition of Mark Clayton to replace Donnie Avery, who was recently lost to injury, Bradford's receiving options are set going into the season opener.
But it's hard to see what everyone else is seeing from the inside. What are you guys thinking about in reference to the Rams? What are your concerns going into Sunday? What is the third question I should have typed here? You get the idea. Holler.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Revenge of the Birds' (ROTB) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of ROTB's editors.

I think....
Lauranitis and your D is much underrated….Dont need to say anything about the best RB in the NFL do I?
We'll see on the defense
There is plenty to improve on from 2009. Of course when you’re talking about a team that went 1-15, saying there’s things to improve on is a huge understatement.
You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

How is the 70 million dollar man's shoulder looking?
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
Looks fine so far
He’s taken a couple shots, especially in our first preseason game, and hasn’t even flinched. But that’s not surprising. Taking him with the #1 overall pick pretty much verified the condition of his shoulder.

Bradford looked sharp last 2 preseason games but here comes the real test.
Q 1) How do you think he will fare against teams that are game planning? The Cardinals secondary should be much improved this season over last. I’m sure they’re chomping at the bit to go up against the #1 pick. I know Darnell Dockett is, which brings me to…
Q 2) How is your offensive line looking? The Cardinals defensive line has been called by some talking heads as the best 3-4 line in the league now. Can’t wait to see it in action in a real game at last.
Concerns going into sunday:
1) How well will Derek Anderson play.
2) Our linebackers. We have only 1 back up at ILB and 1 at OLB that made it through camp. The team brought in an OLB off waivers from the Packers and stuck an ILB on the practice squad. We’ve got a pair of 33 yr old starters at OLB and 2 new guys at ILB one of whom is a rookie. Actually Joey Porter is new to the team too so make that 3 out of 4 starting LBs not even on the team last season.
I, too, am looking forward to seeing Bradford against the Cards' and 49ers' defenses
I think it’ll be a harsh awakening from what has so far been an ideal start for Bradford.
Answers
1.) It’s hard to predict, since this will be his first meaningful NFL game ever, and the WR group is still in flux. We lost Donnie Avery for the season, have made some cuts and traded for Mark Clayton. Add to this the perma-injured Laurent Robinson and the raw athleticism of Brandon Gibson, and it’s a huge question mark. Arguably the “best” WR of the preseason was our slot guy, Danny Amendola. And the most impressive rookie in the passing game was TE Mike Hoomanawanui. Those two suggest he hasn’t found a way to connect with his #1 guy, whomever that might be.
2.) Up and down. The talent is undeniable. A #2 overall pick in Jason Smith and a top of the secound round selection from this year’s draft, Rodger Saffold, provided the Rams with our tackles of the future. Center Jason Brown is a stud. And while Jacob Bell has been inconsistent, when he’s on, he’s on. Overpaid, but on. The RG spot has been the only position without a solid starter – I’m not even sure who’ll get the nod for Sunday at that spot. In the first preseason game, both Smith and Saffold looked completely overmatched. That wasn’t the case for the final trio of games. Most Rams fans are confident that the line will be a strong point of the offense moving forward.

Laurent Robinson
Came into the league with allot of promise, and bounced to the Rams … is he gonna be the guy that puts up big numbers …
Amendola is running the crossing routes (welker type), can Robinson be your ‘Moss’? lol
I wouldn't put too much stock in Robinson
Only because he can’t get through a season yet. His numbers early last season before he got hurt were strong, especially considering how weak the Bulger-led passing game was in 2009. But his size and body control are awfully impressive. If he can stay healthy, he’ll likely be our #1 WR this year.

My thoughts going into the game
Concerns: How Derek Anderson plays. If he plays bad, then I’m going to be concerned, but if he plays good, then I’m going to be extremely happy. I believe in Coach Whiz, therefor I believe in DA. I think that our receiving corps are enough for DA to succeed, and our O-line seems to have given him better protection during pre-season than they did for Matt Leinart.
High Points: I think our offense will do great, and our defense should do good too. Darnell Dockett has already made it clear that he plans on giving Sam Bradford a big welcome into the NFL, and I think we all know what he means. I think Chris Beanie Wells will have a break-through season, and basically, I’m psyched for the game.
Like I said, if DA does bad, then that’ll raise concerns, but if he does good, that’ll relax a lot of us. I believe we have the offense for him to succeed. It’s just a matter on whether he takes advantage of that.
Go Cardinals!
ok Wow
things that actually need to be worried about; Fitz’s knee injury, the running game … DA doesn’t have to play well, he just need to manage the game and not make any silly turnovers
… and I thought we were hear to talk about the Rams to Rams fans … umm, where are the Rams fans?
with avery out who is your #1 WR
I want to see toler shine on game time. Besides that and I don’t want to see DA go 2-17 if those things go good then sorry to say we got it in the bag
The Devil Birds just got cha

I've looked into it a little because of fantasy football
1. Robinson
2. Amendola
3. Clayton
If that’s not the case, I’ll be corrected soon enough.
It's tough to say
Don’t count out Brandon Gibson or rookie Mardy Gilyard

Yeah
Amendola works out of 3-WR sets mostly, with Robinson and Avery usually lining up outside. With Avery down, it’s probably between Mark Clayton and Brandon Gibson to earn that flanker spot, though Amendola has set up there at times this preseason.

Amendola has been impressive
I guess being cut on Cowboys ‘Hardknocks’ and making a few circus catches helps …
Amendola is my favorite rams player to watch
If only the rest of the team played with that much heart.

He certainly is gritty
He’s been very good as a return man since he came to St. Louis as well. He’s definitely on the cusp of being a fan favorite.
