Time to take a look at the Week Four sim of the match between the Giants and Cardinals.
Again, I am using 15 minute quarters, the rosters are the most recent ones, and the game is played through the Super Sim mode.
Game Summary:
The Giants started off the scoring in this game and they did it in bunches. In the first quarter alone, they scored on 16 and 74 yard runs from Ahmad Bradshaw, and Eli Manning threw an eight yard scoring pass to Hakeem Nicks. This gave them an early 21-0 lead over the Cardinals.
The Cardinals did get their offense going with some big plays though. In the second quarter they scored on an 73 yard strike from Kevin Kolb to Larry Fitzgerald, and in the third quarter they added an 84 yarder from Kolb to Andre Roberts. This made the score 21-14 going into the fourth quarter.
Then, things started to get interesting. Jay Feely made a 29 yard kick to reduce the deficit to 21-17, and the Giants were finally able to answer after being shut out since for first quarter by adding another run from Bradshaw into the endzone, this one from one yard out. The Cards were then able to get an 18 yard run for Beanie Wells and a two point conversion to put them down 28-25 late in the fourth quarter, and they also added a field goal by Feely as time expired to push the game into overtime.
They didn't get the win though, on the first drive of overtime Eli led the Giants down the field and threw an 18 yard scoring pass to Jake Ballard. This gave the Giants a 35-28 win in Overtime.
The Madden Cardinals are now 3-1. With how the last two games that were projected as wins were wrong, lets hope that this game being projected as a loss will be wrong too.
The Cardinals offense wasn't very efficient in this game, especially Kolb. He completed slightly under 50% of his passes and threw four interceptions, but he also connected on several long passes and had over 10 yards per attempt on the day. Overall, both quarterbacks like usual in these sims had a hard time completing over 50% of their passes, but Eli also had to deal with six drops from his receivers.
