Need an Offensive Coordinator ASAP!
Our offense is terrible and everybody knows that. We have no creativity when it comes to play calling and our execution for plays suck. I think two major things that would help our team are to; properly run a screen pass and hit our tight ends. All the great passing teams in the league are good at it. Tom Brady's tight ends get more stats than the WRs. Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers use screen passes heavily. Since Whiz seems to prefer passing I don't understand why we don't do these things.
It makes me wonder what in the world is this coaching staff doing? We look like a damn high school team every Sunday. They way we play is so predictable and we make no adjustments. I just think we need a new offensive coordinator to come in and utilize all the positions on offense a bit more. The only way we score off passing are off big plays(blown coverage) or Fitz saving the Qbs behind by making a spectacular catch. Thats just one problem for our team but I think it would help out especially when we need to close games out.

Im convinced its Whisenhunt calling the plays and not Miller
On more than one occasion yesterday the cameras show Whisenhunt and he was looking at his playcard then calling the plays in.

Google it...
Couldn’t agree more I said we needed an OC when Haley left. Whisenhunt needs to first Google “NFL Head Football Coach” then he need to perform those duties and only those duties.
What the hell is the deal with the Cardinals absolute ineptitude at throwing a screen?
I can think of maybe one time they have pulled it off all season and that was called back by a penalty.
That was the preseason too

there was a play that Beanie made good yardage on that was called back. I don’t recall if it was a run or screen pass. I could be getting two plays mixed up.
I was thinking of the one to Beanie against the Packers

we have beanie at RB and Kolb at QB...
nuff said lol
If I thought it was as simple as those two I would have called them out.
Watching teams burn us time and again with screen plays juxtaposed by the pathetic attempts of our offense has me believing it goes way beyond the passer and receiver.
beanie has no balance
and kolb just can’t put the pass on the money. its a recipe for disaster.
Greg Olson
His contract ends this year and he’s developed Josh Freeman into a pretty solid QB and runs that offense very well.
Cardinals need a house cleaner.
Bidwell, hopefully, will hire someone with decades of NFL experience and contacts to come in and clean house. Somebody who commands respect throughout the league that can assemble a crew of ex HCs looking for a chance to be part of the game. Guys with pride and determination. This is my dream for Arizona NFL football.
It's a tall order. :)

I'm not so sure it's the playcalling
Albeit, post Whiz presser time, but execution has been our problem since Warner wad driving the offense. Housler get a pass this week, due to being a rookie and the stupid effing lockout.

I actually posed this question to Mike Sando hoping he picks it up for his blog
I think that we have stopped adjusting our offensive schemes since Todd Haley left (since Whiz took over). Our in game adjustments are terrible. I watched Fitz line up in Man Bump Coverage with no Safety over the top 3 times on Sunday. I understand this happening once but Minnesota needs to pay for it the VERY NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS. I tried to get Sando to prove it by comparing the number of times we used formations, run to pass choices, and actual Fitz targets in the 1st vs. 2nd half. Compare the numbers from the last 3 years to the Super Bowl season with Todd Haley.

People forget
That Whiz was a successful play caller with Pittsburgh.
From my perspective, from what I’ve read and from what I have seen is that our offense requires a QB who can quickly identify the coverage, find the mismatch and make the throw promptly. Warner excelled in this very offense, with much of the same play calling.
Kolb said it in one of his last pressers, that he was being asked to do to much, like make 4 reads but was struggling so they reduced his reads.
I like our offense, when it is run effectively. I think it can be a very successful offense.
What I see as our big problem is coaches overloading players with schemes (something Whiz has said hes been guilty of) and players unable to perform those schemes (i.e. Derrick Anderson).
Our WR’s have been getting open, our RB’s have been getting yards. Kolb just has to learn to take advantage of the system.
I believe he will and will prove his worth by the end of the season. (Mostly because I want to draft a LB or OT in the first and not a QB…)
Bidwill getting uneasy?
Sando has a write up on Whisenhunt and what Bidwill expect of him. If I was Coach Whisenhunt I would bring a bag of ice to try and cool his seat down a little bit.

Ridiculously Stupid...
For one Ken Whisenhunt is a good play caller, Then “Why does the Cards offense look like crap?” Well you’ve got a QB that is only in his 9th or 10th week of the offense. This QB has no cohesion with his WR and no trust in his O-line. This mean that Ken Whisenhunt is probably calling plays Kolb is most comfortable with and can probably only use 60-75% of the play book. Maybe even less with O-line deficiencies.
On top of that the offensive line play is horrid. Levi Brown is basically a welcome mat to Kevin Kolb and Bridges and Keith aren’t exactly reliable. With the lack of major talent in WR and numerous TE the Cards need to use 2 and 3 TE sets.
Added to my point go back and watch the game, Housler was open a couple of times for a big play and Kolb didn’t see it. There were also a couple of well run route that freed up Fitz but Kolb did have anytime to get it to him.
This offense has good plays called but Kevin Kolb needs to recognize the open guys but he can’t do this when he is worried about his protection. News flash Haley wasn’t that great of an OC. Warner checked to hot routes a lot and changed plays a the LOS Warner made him look good and Whisenhunt had his plays in the offense as well,

How did this situation occur?
The Cards have zero QBs with experience in the Cardinals system. That in itself is a huge blunder for the franchise. The baby got tossed when we threw out the bath water!
Cardinals fans are learning just how patient they will have to be while Kolb is shaped into the magic key. (Too bad there is no experienced QB’s brain to pick.)
thanks for providing your view on this situation, an outsiders view is always welcome
I would agree that trust in the O-line (especially the blind side) is one of the keys. Kolb shows potential at times, but he’s still an unknown. I starting to think that he should gradually be converted into a pocket passer like Kurt.

Not really an outsider...
Live in AZ watched every Cardinals game that isn’t on when we get Steelers games in Phx. Listen to Doug and Wolf every night on the way home from going to school at the Future Pac-12 South Champions ASU.
