Why trading Dockett makes sense

Let me start off by saying I love Darnelle Dockett, he has and will always be one of my favorite all time NFL players. I am so greatful and privilidged to have gotten to see what a real football player looks like and how a real football player performs. Its a sad thing when you have such dynamic players and your team decides to move in another direction, but it happens, and we need to make the best of it.

The minute Ray Horton signed his contract with the team, Docketts role on the Defensive line changed. After all 3-4 DLmen are used as more of "space taker-uppers", and block eaters, rather then pass rushing, OL eating, QB killing monsters. And dockett is just to much of a talent to be wasted away in a 3-4.

Now if Horton is gonna be around for a while, which im assuming he is, then Dockett needs to be traded to a team that can fully utilize his gifts. He is a top 5 4-3 DLmen in the NFL today and it does us nor him any good to have him wasting away in  3-4. It would honestly be the best thing for both parties to at least explore trades, and look for an outside edge rusher or draft picks, before he is to old or injured.

Like I said, he is one of my favorite players ever and I would hate to see him go, but it needs to be done for us and for him. The Pros far out weigh the Cons in this one. The only Cons I could see is that we are losing an extremely gifted football player which are a dime a dozen, and we are losing maybe the biggest and most expressive leader in our locker room. That could potentially hurt the chemistry but i feel we have players that will step up and become leaders for us.

PLZ lets hear your opinions on this...
