Cardinals Vs. 49ers Injury Report: Dan Williams Out For Season

Stay connected for news and updates

Towards the end of the 23-7 loss the Arizona Cardinals suffered to the 9-1 San Francisco 49ers, DT Dan Williams had to be carted off the field with an air cast after being hit in the left arm with the helmet of what appeared to be teammate Stew Bradley while both were attempting to bring down 49er running back Anthony Dixon.

It was later confirmed by Ken Whisenhunt at the postgame press conference that Williams broke his left arm and will miss the rest of the season.

With the loss of Williams, we can expect either rookie David Carter or free agent signee Nick Eason to replace Williams in the starting lineup. Williams will likely be placed on injured reserve so that his roster spot can be used. That would likely mean that rookie Ronald Talley will come back to the active roster from the practice squad. To replace Talley on the practice squad, DT Ricky Lumpkin, who was relased from the PS earlier this season, will be the most likely candidate to get a call for the squad.

Williams was not the only casualty of the game. Tackle Brandon Keith suffered a concussion during the game. He will have to be symptom free before he can return to practice. In the meantime, Jeremy Bridges will take his spot and D'Anthony Batiste will then back up both tackle positions.

As more information is made known, we'll make sure to have it here.
