Time for another Madden sim, this week playing out the week nine matchup between the Cardinals and Rams.
Again, I am using 15 minute quarters, the rosters are the most recent ones, and the game is played through the Super Sim mode.
Kevin Kolb is doubtful for the game, so I replaced him with Skelton. I am also going to assume that Sam Bradford will miss the game even though he is going to be a gametime decision, so Feeley gets the start for the Rams.
Game Summary:
The duel of the backups wound up with a good number of points being scored, but generally there was a ton of inaccuracy from the Quarterbacks.
The Rams scored first with Josh Brown kicking one of his many field goals on the day, and Skelton also threw a quick pass to LaRod Stephens-Howling who took it 35 yards for a score. The Rams then went on to control the second quarter with two more kicks from Brown, these ones coming from 40 and 29 yards out and they added a 24 yard strike from Feeley to Gibson for seven more points to end the half.
In the third, the Rams struck quickly again, this time with Quinn Porter taking the opening kickoff of the second half 102 yards for a score, they also went for a two point conversion but did not convert. Beanie added a four yard touchdown run to try and close the gap to eight points. But the Rams completely pulled away in the final quarter with another kick from Brown, this one from 47 yards, and Feeley added another scoring pass, this one from five yards out to Danario Alexander.
Although the Rams scored 32 points, it was not a very efficient game from Feeley, where he completed less than half of his passes and he threw two interceptions to go along with his touchdowns. One of them went to Schofield, which I believe would be the first interception he ever had in his entire football career. Skelton also struggled mightily, completing under 40% of his passes and getting picked off twice. Clearly Madden doesn't think as much of Skelton as some of us here do.
So, in the end, the Madden Cardinals lose again, this time 32-14. Their record also drops to 4-4.
