Brandon Williams

First and foremost I'd like to welcome Brandon Williams to the Arizona Cardinals 53 man roster. Secondly my sympathies go out to Joey Porter for coming 3 sacks shy of 100, hope you can find a team next year.

Brandon Williams came into the league back in 2009 in the 4th round by the Dallas Cowboys. They converted him to OLB from DE. He comes in at 6'3 and 261 pounds. He came outta Texas Tech his junior year having lead the Big 12 with 13 sacks. He should fit in well in a 3-4 defense but has been plagued by knee injuries. After the combine he was ranked 12th out of 192 DE's during his collegiate career. He's the big physical man that Ray Horton likes to have in his defense, and if we were to keep him in AZ to see if he would fit well, should be able to compete for a starting spot next year. Fans over on the Cowboys "Blogging the Boys" say he has a lot of potential but the knee injuries have really hampered his progress.

I've always been a fan of this guy. I watched him at Texas Tech and he always showed up to play. Hopefully those knee injuries are a thing of the past and he'll become a top tier LB.

*UPDATE* RB William Powell was resigned to take over Brandon Williams PS spot. Remember him?
