Sam Acho: The Tim Tebow of the 'D'?

Many people are familiar with the religious background of the Bronco's QB Tim Tebow, but not so many realize the same about Cardinals' rookie OLB Sam Acho. Both are Christian and show it. Tim Tebow is very well known throughout the National Football League, but Acho, being a linebacker rather than a quarterback, isn't. Everyone has seen Tebow thank GOD for the victories and success, but only people who have watched Acho play and seen his post-game conferences know the same of him.

Both are playmakers. Acho having five sacks and Tebow only losing two games as starter (putting up remarkable fantasy numbers). In the Cards vs. Ravens game earlier in the season Acho recorded his first sack of his career while forcing Joe Flacco to fumble. Sam Acho has said that right be that play he had asked The Lord for huge play, and it happened. In all the comferences I've seen with Acho, he always says something along the lines of, "Glory be to GOD! It's just another chance to worship."

Tebow has been critized on multiple acounts for saying similar things so I wonder, is it only a certain amount of time until Acho is criticized for it? Maybe, like Tebow, it just adds fuel to the fire and makes him work harder? I hope so!

More Similarities?

Sam's parents are from Nigeria. Tim was born in the Philippines. Both players have went back to those places on mission trips.
Both were focused not only on sports, but also academics in college. Tebow with a 3.5 GPA at UF and Acho with a 3.6 GPA at UT.
Both franchises are quite pleased with their young players' play.

Folks don't normally criticize pass rushers. They might get arses whipped for it.

Tebow is mentioned constantly due to his fan following and the media exploiting that for all it’s worth. I don’t believe Sam will have to worry.

Sam's a rookie and he has strong faith,but he's no tebow.

he may have room for improvement, but he’s doing it everyday and he’s earned what little praise comes his way and more. What he doesn’t do, he doesn’t go out and play spidersense driven reactionary mistake riddled foot ball and then rely on god to get him one lucky pass or run that wil magically, divinely make peopole forget about the otherwise tterrible four quarters or so of foot ball that wouldn’t even pass for starting qb with the cards. /sam, keep giving thanks for the gifts you’ve got, and the good grace to grow. Tim, say your thanks and get the hell out.
