So Arizona won the game against Dallas and is now 5-7. Even though San Francisco looms next week, the Cardinals are now 4-1 in their last five games. A 9-7 or 8-8 season is now possible.
An NFC West Title is probably out of reach for Arizona (unless San Francisco loses the rest of their games). However, a wild card is not out of the question.
Here are the other teams contending for a wild card spot:
New York Giants: 6-6
Detroit Lions: 7-4 (pending the Sunday night game)
Chicago Bears: 7-5
Atlanta Falcons: 7-5
Seattle Seahawks: 5-7
Arizona Cardinals: 5-7
Here is a breakdown of how the teams did on week 13:
-The Giants lost to an explosive Packers offense (that will probably go 16-0).
-The Lions play the Sunday game against the New Orleans Saints in which the Lions are the underdog.
-The Falcons lost to the Houston Texans and their third-string QB.
-The Bears snubbed Donovan McNabb and stayed with Caleb Hanie, who lost again (Hanie is now 0-2 as a starter).
-The Seahawks beat a lackluster Eagles team that stunk it up on the Thursday night game. Tavaris Jackson doesn't look like a playoff QB, but they might sneak it in on the performance of Marshawn Lynch.
-The Cardinals have 4 of their last five.
Don't talk about playoffs? You kiddin' me??
