Cardinals likely to lose Steve Breaston
Report from Kent Somers. I dislike this news greatly.
"Receiver Steve Breaston is not going to re-sign with the Cardinals, according to sources close to the situation.
An unrestricted free agent, Breaston has received interest from numerous teams, including Arizona, which drafted him in the fifth round in 2007.
But Breaston has apparently received more lucrative offers, and the Cardinals are out of the running for his services. The Chiefs are believed to the favorite to sign him."

Most everyone on Arrowhead Pride believes that Breston may have already made a verbal agreement
with the Chiefs. The big connection is with Haley. The Chiefs however are very closed mouthed about most everything and we don’t expect any type of announcement until Friday. We of course would love to have him here.

Cool, Chiefs have been my AFC team since Haley's induction...
Who would win in a fight, Whisenhunt or a Hurricane?
Hold on, hold on, what if the Hurricanes name was Whisenhunt?
Daaaaaaaaaa Cards, Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards Da Cards!!!
Saw this coming...
That guy from the front office leaked that he was gone last year. Good riddance Breaston, maybe you can catch a ball this season!
Definitely a product of Warner, and he was a Dick to the kids at my little cousins school on some charity visit.

He made some plays in those Warner seasons
And that’s all you could ask of him. Studs like Fitz aside, receivers are often only as good as the guys who are throwing to them.. although I cant speak in favour of his personality.
good to see guys like you still commenting here though Boogatt

Wow, another Chiefs fan here
Just a couple of questions about Breaston as it sounds like we are in the running for him. What kind of a receiver is Breaston. Do you guys feel like he is reliable and a team player? I like the last guy we got from Az. Todd Haley. I guess maybe the Chiefs are so good cause we get all of your players…ha ha. Any info would be appreciated.
Pick 21: OLB Justin Houston
Pick 30: C Rodney Hudson
Pick 86: NT Kenrick Ellis. (Ellis in the 3rd = Taylor in the 1st + 1st round pick).
Problems solved. Please forget about Phil Taylor.
I'm pissed if the rumors are true so that should give an indication of what I think about Steve.

He's solid. Not a true number 1 though. Can stretch the field, but inconsistant hands unless Warner is throwing it to his chest.
Think Dante Stalworth…

Breaston
has the most underrated hands in the league, and improved every season since we drafted him, never heard him complain about anything that I can remember.
would he be good in the slot?

That's where he is most effective... He's fast as hell!

Yes

I think that's where he's most effective
Although at this moment in time I think that he would beg to differ. Some success with Warner has given him some notions about himself

No surprises here at all, the team made no play to resign him.
They are unlikely to make a play on any other Free Agent WR’s either. They just do not have the money to do that and keep the likes of Fitzgerald and Campbell here long term.
If/When this Kolb deal is done, the next two/three years are handcuffed between Whisenhunt and Kolb.
The vikings sent two sixth rounders to the redskins for mcnabb!
and we want to send DRC and a high draft pick for Kolb? Mcnabb would have been a stop gap solution at best but at least it would give us time to find other QBs next year or develop Skelton!

McNabb has nothing
We could have gotten him cheap once before.

Sad day
Cardinals are falling apart piece by piece..we have made no aggressive moves what so ever. Address the O line and replacing DRC when this terrible Kolb deal goes down..any of the free agent WR’s are better than our #2 or #3 wides. Make a move for god’s sake AZ.
Thanks for the responses. I hope you get to keep him or he comes to KC
And YCF I agree Kolb < McNabb

Bowe - Breaston - Baldwin - McCluster - Moeaki
That is one hell of a fucking lineup. Too bad their QB isn’t worth dick.
Cassel wasn't that bad last year
Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Phoenix Suns/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].
Cassel is actually a pretty good QB.
He had a 93 rating, ranked no. 8 in the NFL. Threw only 7 int last year and got to play in the Pro Bowl.

Yikes.
The time for pessimism is now, guys. I hear this Kolb thing is actually going to happen.
Q: What do a leaky tampon and Sean McDermott's defense have in common?
A: They are equally ineffective in the red zone.
"If Roger Goodell was on fire and I had to piss on him to put him out, I wouldn't do it...I hate him and will never respect him."

LOL, Pessimism
That’s a natural state for Cardinals fans. Those that were fans prior to Kurt Warner anyway.

You guys are overreacting so much!
You got a new DC from one of the best defensive teams in the league, a top tier HC, the best WR in football. The draft was great for you guys, and has been the last couple years, and you’re getting (most likely) a QB with high potential and some experience under one of the best QB coaches in the league.
I think its good that the Cards aren’t throwing money away. Draft and develop. Its not flashy but you got a lot of young guys that won’t get their chances if they buy high priced FAs.

To each his own
A “top tier HC” — debatable at best…
Draft and develop would be a good strategy normally but this year and next teams have to spend at least 99% of the salary cap of $120 million. The Cardinals are $40 million under the cap for next year…
by YoungCardsFanatic on Jul 27, 2011 6:54 PM MDT up reply actions
That money will evaporate quickly enough.
Top tier head coach definitely debatable. Still the best since the team moved to Arizona. Not that much movement has really happened yet. Signing period doesn’t open until 6pm eastern on Friday. That’s when things will really get rolling for everyone.
I don't like these "agreed to in principle contracts" because they can be reneg on at the last minute.
I like all years prior where when a deal was agreed to it was binding.

We are the cheapest damn team in the NFL. Our front office cant make one right decision. Sending DRC and a draft pick for Kolb….Stupid. We are back to Cardinal football. Lets go ahead and let Breaston go. What about the O line…why are we not signing anyone.!!!?!?!?!?!?
