Ok, I will start out by saying that this is not a professional extremely educated post, but more a general feeling of what the average fan is expecting in the remainder of free agency. Dont expect any detailed analysis from me cause I dont know any.
first I'll start out by stating how incredibly excited I have been seeing real football news return. I, like most fans here on this site have been anticipating some great additions brought from the front office. I also have the same opinion as most here feeling that Orton is a much better QB for the price. Yesterday when the Eagles stated they wanted a 1st rounder and DRC, that should have been the point where the cardinals said BULLSHIT WE OUT! and stood firm going after Orton full steam ahead. Cardinals still have this opportunity for a very small amount of time. The window appears to be closing overnight. How much better does it sound to give up only 2nd rounder and still keep DRC, not to mention the fact that this will really irritate philly. I really dont want AZ to be the laughing stock if philly gets their deal. Cards still have an opportunity to appear semi smart in this deal.
second, sign some freakin offensive linemen sooner rather than later. It seems like everyone and their mom knows how important this is. Somehow the front office missed the memo
third, now that Breastons gone, we better see a true # 2 starter takes his place. After all, WIZ did say he was gonna be aggressive. This would suffice as aggressive and smart if this happens.
One more note. Being that Orton would not cost an arm and a leg, replacing him with sketlon in the coming years wont seem so crazy if Orton doesnt pan out. who wants to admit they spent a billion dollars on Kolb, then replaced him with a back up 2 years later due to sucking. This is a big possibility.
If these three things happen, then I feel there will be a ton of opptimism in the Cardinals community. - I told you there wasnt going to be any deep insight in this post.
