Conditioning test over. This old man dominated it. In fact Entire team did phenomenal. Especially after not having an offseason

Even losing DRC, Zona looks pretty strong in their secondary. But…Pass Rush?

Here’s to hoping our young guys step up!

Still would like to see additional OL help and a LB.

by A.J. Punk on Jul 30, 2011 12:16 PM MDT reply actions

FO is doing a decent job of filling the holes

There’s not too many holes left to fill.
QB – set
RB – set unless TH is lost
WR – set except for a splashy deep threat maybe?
OT – could use an upgrade but they have guys
OG – could use one upgrade but they have guys
C – set
TE – mostly set, maybe a Heap upgrade?
DT – need another rotation guy, maybe Watson and one other
DE – set if they resign Iwebema
OLB – could use an upgrade but they have guys
MLB – set
CB – set
S – could use a depth guy

I’m not sure if they have any cap left after Marshall signing for anything splashy.

by sonic barracuda on Jul 30, 2011 12:18 PM MDT reply actions

Anyone have an idea where our cap is at? Hopefully Peterson, Williams, and Housler sign today. Would have loved to snag MSW though. Todd Heap rumor, is that still alive?

FREE AGENCY!

TE Zach MILLER (bring him home!)
LB/DE Manny Lawson
CB Antonio Cromartie
LT Matt Light (1 or 2 year deal)
LB Kirk Morrison

and to make it crazy give Kolb another weapon: WR Terrell Owens!

the main three i want to the cardinals to do is miller, owens and LAWSON! matt light is very consistent and would be good for 2 years.

You are correct. He didn’t make it to the practice squad because he was signed elsewhere. Don’t remember if it was Chicago or if he bounced around some. Cardinals just signed another lineman making it less likely they would bother with Johnson again but still wouldn’t rule it out.

No NFL team has ever successfully bought a SB. We will see if they can for these guys into a team.

I also think now that the got him they may be wishing they had kept Kolb – If they are going to make an SB run this year with Vick they likely will wish they had a better backup then VY.

Short answer - No

Long answer is wait and see. I think there needs to be at least 5 year waiting period to retire a player. Kurt deserves to have his number retired but should probably be with the Rams. I think Jake Plummer’s #16 should be retired if Warner’s #13 is. Both took us to the playoffs for the first time in a decade – Plummer did it for the first time in 16 years. Had we won the SB I think #13 would be retired

Gabe Watson

I think Gabe will be motivated to go elsewhere though. Haven’t heard anything about the Cardinals talking with him either.

i don’t know how to start it but—lets start off with some good news—i hope

kentsomers Kent Somers
Progress being made on contract for Ryan Williams, Cardinals 2nd round pick. Very surprising if not done today.

Niners fans: Jim harbaugh says Alex Smith was thrown under the bus in the past by the team/organization. agree? is he THE QB of the 49ers?

From Eagles’ camp. RT @Jeff_McLane: Oh and forgot DRC had an Achilles injury. It’s not considered serious.

Lofa Tatupu to be released,

he’s been injury prone as of late, but was an absolute stud in his early days, anyone think we should put him in red?

by Cardsfan928 on Jul 31, 2011 10:34 AM MDT reply actions

i saw tweets earlier by Somers about him

he’s mostly a 4/3 linebacker and wouldn’t fit our system—wouldn’t expect the Cards to have interest

Still need about 5 more for our little fantasy experiment with a league of just defensive players.
Obviously you can have other main leagues, but this was just an idea we had for fun. (Since fantasy football is usually so offense-focused)
