Daunte Culpepper To Try Out For The San Francisco 49ers
According to NFL reporter Jason La Canfora, the San Francisco 49ers may be looking to bring in another veteran to go along with rookie quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the much maligned, Alex Smith. Who they plan on giving a chance may surprise you.
Reports are coming out that Daunte Culpepper will be flying in to the Bay Area in order to show Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers what he still has left in the tank.
Here's the tweet from La Canfora and a reaction from XTRA 910's Mike Jurecki:
Desperate! RT @JasonLaCanfora: Daunte Culpepper wrkn out for 49ers 2morrow Glad 2 C the veteran QB getting sum looks. I'd take a shot on him
I tend to agree with Mike Jurecki on this one. It seems that San Francisco is digging for any sort of help they can get because they know Alex Smith is still not going to achieve success and Kaepernick is just too inexperienced.
Something we have to remember is that Culpepper was once a very good player. He made three Pro Bowls while playing with the Minnesota Vikings. His best statistical season was in 2004 where he passed for over 4,700 yards and led the Vikings to the playoffs on an 8-8 record.
I highly doubt Culpepper can be effective, but if he makes another comeback and revitalizes his career, then good for him. Obviously, the task will be even more daunting if he plans on playing for the 49ers. He should just stick to playing in the UFL.
In the meantime, don't worry about your quarterback situation, Harbaugh. You will be reunited with Andrew Luck soon enough... Unless Pete Carroll and the Seahawks beat you to him.

On a side note, what the hell happened to Troy Smith.
The 49ers didn’t resign him. No one else has either.
Got off to a good start
Then his accuracy went all to hell and he got benched for the other Smith again.
Guess the back half of his starts scared people off.

Harb's has never once mentioned his name...LOL
Culpepper merely being looked at as a 3rd stringer..
