NFL Free Agency: Former Arizona Cardinal Ben Patrick Signs With New York Giants
The Arizona Cardinals are set at the tight end position, so this is no real surprise. The tight end that was supposed to be "the tight end' for the Arizona Cardinals, Ben Patrick, has signed a one-year contract with the New York Giants, as a plan to replace Kevin Boss if he is to leave in free agency. He could also battle for the number two spot if Boss comes back.
Patrick, like so many other tight ends the Cardinals have had in years past, never quite became what was hoped.
In fact, the lead writer for SB Nation New York and Big Blue View emailed me to ask me about Patrick. All I had to say was this:
He had all thee tools to be one off best tight ends. Never quite got it together.
I know that among most fans he won't really be missed, but when I think of him, it is simply another case of wondering what could have been.
