Hello from overcast Seattle. I'm here on business for the week, which allows me to converse with the Hawks fans here. They're lamenting their QB situation, and are quick to say that the Cards made a smart move by picking up Kolb. Anyway, I digress. This is about mock drafts and the Cards needs for 2012. Most folks voted for an OT. I've abstained from the vote, but I wouldn't be upset with an OT taken in the first round, provided it isn't a reach. The position with the second most votes is OLB. I'm working a bit here to fit in a player that has the athleticism to play OLB, even though he is a MLB currently. He is also a name that pops up on the fanposts frequently. This mock draft by Matt Miller @ bleacherreport.com can be read here. Hit the jump to read about a MLB from ASU...
With the 12th pick in the 2012 draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Vontaze Burfict. (We finish 2nd in the division BTW, behind the Rams)
At 6'3" and 245" Burfict is a powerful presence against the run. He plays with a nasty streak. He can drop into coverage. On top of that, Miller feels that Burfict has the speed to rush the passer from the outside. In looking Burfict play, he has all the athletic tools a coach would love to work with. A LB core of Washington, Bradley, and Burfict would be a nightmare to scheme against.
See Burfict in action here.
Tell me what you think, use the poll below.
