receiving options

First of all, I am glad football is back on and have loved our offseason thus far. I am just curious as to what the feeling is in regards to our recieving options. I think our front office has sent a message that we will finally be incorporating the TE into the offense, which I think is great. That being said, I think we need to get another receiver. I think there have been some good options in FA this offseason that have signed elsewhere (sims-walker, rice, moore, edwards, etc.) so I am wondering what the FO is planning.

Our first priority must be resigning Fitz. He is the cornerstone of our franchise and is the type of player you want on your team. I think this is why we have not signed any recievers yet. Hopefully we can use our abundance of cap space this year to free up space later on in his cotract. Also, signing a bigger name such as Rice, potentially could send the wrong message to fitz that we are preparing for life without him. For this reason, I like that we have not signed a WR yet.

But that has left us thin at WR which concerns me. We have lost 2-1,000yd receivers in the last 2 years and have not done much to replace them. I like doucet, but he cannot seem to stay healthy and I do not think williams and roberts are ready yet, and I doubt if they will ever be legit #1 or 2 wideouts. Now if we just role with what we have at WR for the year I am ok with that, but I would like to see us get someone to that can help keep the defense honest. Fitz had 173 targets last year, 3rd in the league, and that is with breaston around for most of the season. I understand that Heap will help, but still feel we are thin for options and need a threat on the opposite side.

I do not think we have a desperate need at WR, but I would like to see us add at least one more guy. steve smith and J. Cotcherty are at the top of my list as far as complete receivers go, but what about a specialist like b. finneran. I wonder if a red zone specialist (the 6'5'' Finneran) would make our redzone O deadly. Everyone one says kolb is great in the red zone. Imagine if we gave him Fitz, Heap, Finneran and king/housler/wells for options.

Anyways, I do not have any profound statements or arguments to start, just wondering how everyone feels about our receiving core. Are we good? Or do we need more? If so, who and what should be the order of business? Is waiting for Fitz to re-up a must, or are we missing out on good players while we wait? what are our options?
