Ryan Williams Injury Update: Running Back Hopeful To Be Ready For Training Camp
After tearing his patella tendon in a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, rookie running back Ryan Williams was ruled out for the entire 2011 season. Incorporating him within the Arizona Cardinals offense would have added a whole new dimension and yet another weapon for both Kevin Kolb and John Skelton out of the backfield. Needless to say, his presence was missed on the offense, with Beanie Wells being the sole productive back.
Yesterday, Williams updated his fans via Twitter of his injury status and when he expects to be suited up and back on the field again.
Here is what he Tweeted:
With an injury of this kind, it is great to see that Williams' rehab is progressing and that he should be ready in time for next season barring any major setbacks.
As he put it in his message, Williams will be good to go once the team hits Flagstaff for it's annual training camp. Unfortunately, it does not sound like he will be ready for OTAs and the mini camps. Being that he was unable to participate in them last year due to the lockout, it would have been nice if he were able to workout and gain some extra time on the field this time around.
We here at ROTB wish Ryan the best as he continues to recover and we hope to see him back on the field as soon as possible!

Get & stay healthy Ryan!
We need you on this team and it is good to hear he will be ready for next year. He has been hard at work rehabbing.

Cardinals, Suns, D-backs for life!
This kid is going to dominate! I can't wait to see him thrash D's in 2012.

You all are gonna love this kid
I wish we had him for more than the 2 years that we did…VT fans call him RMFW. In case you all hadn’t seen this highlight, this was his FIRST collegiate game against national champs Alabama.
