2012 NFL Schedule: Arizona Cardinals Home And Road Opponents Set

Just a few days ago, we knew 14 of the 16 game opponents that the Arizona Cardinals will play in their 2012 NFL schedule. With their Week 17 win over the Seattle Seahawks and the win by the Philadelphia Eagles over the Washington Redskins, the final two opponents have been decided.

Star-divide

Here were the schedule scenarios as of last week:

If the Cardinals beat the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, their final road game will be against the Atlanta Falcons. If they lose, they will travel to Carolina to play the Panthers.

The last home game is complicated because the standings are up in the air. If the Cardinals win and the Philadelphia Eagles win, the Cards will host the Eagles. Philly will lock up second place no matter what if they win. They have a series sweep over the Dallas Cowboys and, while they split the season series with the New York Giants, they hold a tiebreak because of their division record, regardless of what happens on Sunday.

If the Cardinals lose and the Eagles lose, they will still play Philly at home. If the Cardinals lose and the Eagles win, then the Cards would host the loser of the Cowboys/Giants game. If the Giants were to win, it would mean that the Cowboys would come to town again for the third year in a row. That would be fun, because they cannot seem to win here.

Since the Cards and Eagles won, Arizona will host Philadelphia and travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons.

Especially if Sanchez is still their QB

If Horton can get the D to snare some more turnovers they could have a field day with him

Traveling to Atlanta gives us another dome game at least.

Better than having Philly on the road and Atlanta at home.

It's a tough schedule, but...

the cards need to stick to the dedication they showed this past offseason. Signing CC should be top priority, then improve the damn OL, pass rushing, and get another WR. We should be a force to be reckoned with and will definitely battle SF for the NFC West with Kolb or Skelton at QB. With Ryan Williams coming back and a full season and offseason for Horton’s D, I believe the sky will be the limit for this team. There isn’t anyone on that list that we can’t beat on any given Sunday…the Niners proved what can happen when the cards “no pun intended” fall into place.
