Some places Todd Haley might go

While around 70% of the ROTB community is probably in favor of the return of Todd Haley, his return to Arizona seems less likely than his taking an OC position with another team. As I read articles and listen to sports talk radio from around the league I get the feeling that Haley will take an OC position that is as prestigious as being a HC almost anywhere else, or at the least he'll take an OC job and not stoop all the way down to a position coach.

Star-divide

I think Haley will go to be the new Dallas OC (prestige position), Rams OC, Miami OC, or even a wild card that isn't being talked about but perhaps Buffalo. Three of the four teams have young QBs that could use the development provided by Haley and an offense that is under powered based on the personnel there. If he selects Dallas, I think being the Dallas OC is just as good as being a HC in my opinion, due to the amount of prestige it has and national attention. He could do one year, take them to the playoffs, then leave back to a new HC opportunity.

What are your guys' thoughts?

Dallas already hired Bill Calahan as their OL and OC

One team you didn’t mention whose OC retired yesterday and also has ties to Haley…..Pittsburgh. Not sure how his brash style would mesh with a veteran team like that but worth mentioning.

Good gouge, I didn't hear about Calahan

But Pittsburgh is a great spot for him and is prestigious. Hiring Haley would certainly change the way their offense is played, but they have all the pieces in place so he would just improve their already potent offense.

Is Pitt's,

offense really that old though? Outside of Miller, Roethlisberger, and Ward?

No

Wr Mike Wallace has 3 years of experience, Wr Antonio Brown and Wr Emanuel Sanders 2 years, RB Rashard Mendenhall 4 years, RB Isaac Redman 2 years, TE Wes Saunders has 1 year, LT/RT Marcus Gilbert just finished his rookie year, RG Ramon Foster has 3 years, C Maurkice Pouncey has two years, RT Willie Colon has 6 years.

That’s a majority of the offense that is still relatively young.

Kirby Wilson

reportedly was who the Steelers were going to promote. However he is currently in critical condition after sustaining burns on 45% of his body. I wouldn’t mind Haley he can work great with the Steelers young WRs and hopefully get Ben to understand when they are blitzing you need to get the ball out hot. He may butt head with Ben but I think thats a good thing at times, it worked out for the better with him and Kurt.

A few people on Windy City Gridiron want him

And he was their WR coach for three years so that could be a possibility too

Cutler vs. Haley would make for some interesting sideline battles

I’d pay to see that

The voters are absolutely dreaming

and I think the Pittsburgh suggestion is very interesting.

Pittsburgh makes alot of sense

With those talented young recievers and an established QB, Haley would have almost unlimited possibilities as far as play calling and designing plays. Could very well end up there.

With Arians official retirement today

I think it becomes even more likely that’s where Haley ends up.

That sucks....

I don’t understand the misplaced loyalty for Miller, especially with how competitive the NFC West is about to become. That type of loyalty is what caused the inglorious 2010 season and it might even cost Whisenhunt his job if we now have a similar 2012 campaign, as a result.

Not quite! D.A. caused ... yes solely... the 2010 season to be a trash licker. I really wish Joe you'd stop putting up that pic of D.A. as it reminds how dumb Whiz was with entrusting the O to that Douchenozzle.

And no I’m not blaming 2010 completely on D.A. but damn close. Oh how I detest him! Argh!!!!
