Peyton to the Cardinals. It Needs to Happen.
All right folks, stick with me on this. I'm not saying this will happen, or that we would have the cap room to do it, or that Peyton will even be available, but let's for a second imagine what could happen if the Cardinals traded for or picked up Peyton Manning as a FA. First of all, the Cardinals would get rid of Kolb, maybe trade him to the Colts if a trade is needed to get Peyton; they need a backup QB bad as evidenced by this season. Then draft an OL to help keep Manning upright or a #2 WR that could free up Larry. Then we have Peyton Manning, behind an improving O line throwing to the best WR in the NFL with an up and coming WR threat at #2. Bennie Wells and Ryan Williams could run all day with the attention the defense would have to give to Peyton and Larry. Our defense becomes a top ten unit that just has to hold teams to less than 24 points a game due to a deluge of points from our offense. What about Skelton? Well he's sitting behind Peyton sucking every little bit of knowledge possible for the day when Peyton retires as a Cardinal after bringing the desert their first two super bowl titles. I think I just wet myself...Thoughts?

I personally don’t think peyton has too much left to offer. Reports had his arm strength decreased following the 3rd surgery on his neck, which incidently leads to a much worse prognosis in terms of recovery. Let Peyton go elsewhere..

As great as Peyton is
I would rather build a consistent contender. It will likely take a king ransom to get arguably the best QB in the NFL, even if he is coming off major surgery, and that’s not a good way to build a consistent playoff team. Continue to grab quality players through the draft, who are developed as Cardinals, and this team will be a Super Bowl contender for years to come. Trading the farm for a few seasons with Manning, IMO, is not the way to go.

We already traded the farm for the unproven commodity,
may as well throw the kitchen sink for a proven one. I do agree building with players developed as Cardinals, but hey we always seem to grab the “project” players on offense anyways. May as well give them the cream of the crop to learn from.

On the contrary
Pre-neck surgery Peyton was a proven player, post-neck surgery Peyton is far from proven (at least in terms of physical skills remaining)..

Physically,
I completely agree, however singing Manning would have to be more of a mentor than a playmaker role. He’d still be great to show someone like Skelton how to prepare for Sunday’s.

Getting Peyton Manning would be amazing
Whichever QB we’d keep would learn a TON behind him. But I seriously doubt it’ll happen. Either the Colts will keep him to train Andrew Luck, or they’ll trade him for no less than a 1st Round pick, which I wouldn’t want to give up.
Joe Saunders: "They Giants played a really good game, so hats off to us"
Because Manning's $28 Million roster bonus is due a few days before trades are allowed
The Colts will either have to keep him, or cut him. There will be no trading of Peyton Manning..

I've been dreaming about this
but I doubt it would happen. We just can’t afford to have two of the highest paid players in the NFL on the same team. Plus I think the coaching staff has faith in skelton and/or kolb after a full off-season.
We’ll see what happens though. Who knows.
Something tells me his injuries,
are far more severe than what the media has been told, Thanks HIPA…I don’t know about the injuries, but John Skelton could be scary even if he just got to be around a guy like Manning after just one season.

The one angle you may look at this too is that Manning might CHOOSE AZ!
We are a team set up to win…the D is ready, the offensive players are there…Manning might want to come to a win now team…

Would he want to be the one to keep Eli otta the SuperBowl?
I dont think so. One of the reasons Eli wouldn’t goto San Diego.
great maybe for year or 2 then same situation retiring hall of fame QB. We need to see if Kolb is the QB into the future meaning more than 2 years. would rather see if he decides to come to a team prime to win the division next year
With the way Edge was ousted from the Cards, do you think he would give Peyton a glowing recommendation for us. They always had a great relationship even after he left.

I have an Edge Cardinals jersey
He’ll always be special for me because of that magical playoff run

Edge didn't suck here,
Let’s not forget Indy had the best Offensive line during the early 2000’s, and Edge left a zone blocking scheme. We use power blocking in the run game.
